She continuously strives for excellence in her every endeavor. Melissa emphasizes disease prevention, early detection, quality of life, cost-effective & holistic (body, mind & spirit) health care. As a self-motivated entrepreneur, she helps educate others to become entrepreneurs & achieve financial independence while accomplishing their own personal and professional goals.

In addition to running her own business, Mrs. Stockman-Lamb is a local and national speaker as well as Professor of Nursing in NY hospitals. She has taught RN students on various units (i.e. maternity, labor & delivery, NICU, newborn nursery, pediatrics & medical-surgical) as well as mentor post-graduate NP students. As an American Heart Instructor, she teaches others how to save lives by demonstrating BLS, defibrillator use & first aid for both adult & child victims. Working independently from physicians, in private practices & urgent care facilities, she obtains thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examines, orders laboratory & diagnostic tests, diagnosis patients' conditions, administers & prescribes pharmacological & non-pharmacological treatments & educates patients, families & staff on topics such as prevention & health maintenance. She has inspired many to either become healthier ie. lose weight or pursue a career as an RN, NP or entrepreneur.

Over the years, Melissa has been an active member of many organizations, including but not limited to, Professional Nurses Association of Suffolk County, Nurse Practitioner (NP) Association of Long Island, NP Association of New York State, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Pulmonary Hypertension Association, Celiac Disease Foundation...

Since 1997, she is actively promoting health care legislation with senators, assemblywomen & men. Advocating for both patients & NPs, she supports bills that included health care reform, additional medical research, cost-effectiveness and increasing NP independence.

Prior to the NP & Professor roles, Mrs. Stockman-Lamb had a patent pending submission for inventing an inhaler with a dose counter; Thus, the patient would know how many inhalations were left, warned when medicine was low & reminded to get a new inhaler. (This was many years prior to any inhaler with a counter coming onto the market.) Speaking of inventions- LifeGen Technologies discovered the genes associated with aging; Their goal is to increase healthy life span by focusing on genetic expression analysis & how it relates to the aging process. The products that she utilizes herself, and now actively promotes, include those that can actually change the genetic expression of our genes! (A newly released NY Times best-selling book "The Aging Myth", written by Dr. Joseph Chang, explains how these products work in a very easy to read format.) Additional discoveries-She noted, researched & studied the lethal effects of "phen-phen", the diet medication, before the FDA ban. She was also an active participant with the Women's Health Initiative, a long-term (over 10 year) national study on women's health issues ie. hormone replacements relation to cancer risks, bone density & memory.

While learning full time in college, she worked full time as an RN, where she helped patients who needed acute care (hospitalized), subacute, long-term & home care. She was also the Supervisory RN for an entire home care agency, which also cared for acute, subacute, long-term & hospice patients. She later supervised an entire facility-6 units of subacute & long-term care patients. Her patient populations varied from premature infants to geriatric (101 year olds), short-term to long-term care, ventilators to dialysis, hospice to rehabilitative. Melissa would help these hospice, or terminally ill patients, fulfill their last wishes while comforting and preparing the patients & their families for their transition.

While she was working full time & attending college full time, her grandmother became ill & Melissa decided to take care of the grandmother that took care of her. Her grandmother asked Melissa, "Do you ever think I'll be able to walk again", Melissa rapidly replied "yes...". She believes in the self fulfilling prophecy, what you believe will affect the outcome. If she told her grandmother she wouldn't ever walk again, she wouldn't try & would of never walked again. Well, her grandmother not only walked, but without any walker, cane, or assistance. The gift of belief, gave the gift of independence, accomplishment, esteem, happiness & more time of truly living.

Over the years, Mrs. Stockman-Lamb has had several miraculous encounters with others, in which she has been able to prevent the loss of life ie. performing Heimlich maneuver & BLS, being the 1st responder, discovering a heart malformation in a new patient that came in with a rash (surgical correction performed days later)...Melissa saw another fairly young man with a bronchitis cough, reviewed his past medical tests, noted high cholesterol, did an exam noted his increased weight & high blood pressure, ordered an EKG, she interpreted as abnormal, ordered a stress test, spent hours & days on the phone fighting managed care to show why he really needed a stress test & finally received approval. The stress test showed 99% blockages, the patient underwent coronary artery bypass, stents, & made a full recovery. If he didn't see Melissa for a respiratory infection, he probably would have had a massive heart attack & not survived. The two prior cardiac patients, as well as the next one, had each been accurately diagnosed the very first time they encounter Melissa. This young female explained to multiple MD specialists her symptoms, they couldn't find anything wrong. Melissa performed an exam, thought brain tumor but didn't want to alarm the patient until it was confirmed, ordered the correct radiological tests, diagnosed her brain tumor and referred her to a top neurosurgeon who removed it. The woman then wrote Mrs. Stockman-Lamb a letter stating that without Melissa, her daughter wouldn't have had a mother & her husband wouldn't have had a wife; It was at that pivotal moment that Mrs. Stockman-Lamb realized her impact on others, and that her services created a rippling effect-by changing one life, she could positively change the lives of many.

She has volunteered & donated to various fundraisers & charities. Now she is currently working toward becoming an ambassador for Nourish The Children (NTC). NTC helps prevent unnecessary premature deaths of young children caused by malnutrition; 1 child dies every 6 seconds from malnutrition! NTC, with Mr. Lee Iacocca as the Chair, has provided over 250,000,000 meals to the US as well as other countries, while encouraging their education. For every five bags of food that someone donates, the company will donate one bag. To stop children from unnecessarily dying, go to her website www.rejuvn8.millionsofmeals.com

She believes that the products she utilizes have helped her lose weight, make her insulin & glucose (sugar) levels normal, provide energy & mental alertness, enhancing her immune system & slow down her aging process both inside and out; She enjoys helping others, would like to help others experience these same benefits and thus is actively promoting these products.

Melissa had to overcome many obstacles in her life. One was growing up poor and from divorced, absent parents in a mostly upper-middle class community. Instead of buying a car, she would ride a bicycle a couple miles to the bus stop & take the bus to college, or ride the bicycle a few miles to her job after a full day at school. This would allow her to help her grandmother pay the mortgage & bills. Her grandmother, Anna, would tell her-the more problems you overcome, the stronger you become. Through her own actions, Anna taught Melissa altruism, morals, ethics and the utmost of etiquette. She would like to thank her Grandma Anna Kessler-Pillisdorf for being her mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, best friend & inspiration as well as "The Wind Beneath her Wing". Last but certainly not least, she also wishes to thank her endearing husband Christopher W. Lamb for his continued belief, love, devotion & support!!
