More People See Health Benefits of Massage, Louisville Therapist Says

At CaloSpa in Louisville, massage is helping an increasing number of people manage pain, lower blood pressure and strengthen their immune systems. This follows a nationwide trend, according to the American Massage Therapy Association.

LOUISVILLE, KY, June 21, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Bradley Calobrace of CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center says more people are turning to his medical day spa in Louisville for massage therapy. He says people have massages for a number of reasons, including a significant reduction in pain.

According to statistics from the American Massage Therapy Association, 90% of patients report that massage is effective for reducing pain.

"Our massage therapists work with patients to determine the causes of their pain," Dr. Calobrace says, "and then they personalize the massages to address each person's specific needs."

Dr. Calobrace has hand-selected a team of experienced specialists for his day spa in Louisville, KY, including licensed and certified massage therapists.

Leslie McDowell, one of the massage therapists at CaloSpa, says she enjoys getting to know patients and working with them to develop treatment plans for long-lasting pain relief.

"Each patient's needs are completely personal and therefore require a tailored solution," McDowell says. "During each massage, I work to create a relaxing experience, but I want the benefits to extend beyond the doors of our spa.

"Massage can help with circulation, muscle tension and stress. We offer a range of options, including deep tissue, lymphatic and warm stone massages, and we're happy to work with people to find the best treatments for their needs."

Dr. Nana Mizuguchi, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Calobrace Plastic Surgery Center, says that many people combine massage therapy in Louisville, KY with other body treatments.

"Our massage therapists commonly perform scrubs, wraps and foot treatments along with massages to help patients address multiple concerns at once," Dr. Mizuguchi says. "We invite people to visit our day spa to learn more about the endless benefits of massage therapy."

Calobrace Plastic Surgery is a comprehensive surgical and nonsurgical center, which includes the Calobrace Breast Center, the Calobrace Plastic Surgery Center and the CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center. Both Dr. Bradley Calobrace and Dr. Nana Mizuguchi are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and have received years of training in general surgery and plastic surgery. They have served as clinical instructors for the University of Louisville's Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and both perform a full range of treatments, including breast, body and facial plastic surgery, for Louisville, KY, patients.
