YCIS Beijing Students Shine in IB Exams

Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS) students once again proved their academic excellence in the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations with a 100% pass rate.

BEIJING, CHINA, August 04, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS) students once again proved their academic excellence in the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations with a 100% pass rate and an average score that comfortably exceeded the international average of 29.83 out of 45. YCIS has now surpassed the International average for five consecutive years since its introduction to the school curriculum in 2007. YCIS takes a huge amount of pride in the phenomenal achievements of its students within this internationally recognised course and this year has provided further evidence of YCIS' excellence in education. The average score this year was 33.7, another remarkable accomplishment in which the year 13s at YCIS Beijing excelled once more to continue the proud reputation YCIS has with regards to IB results.

The YCIS students will now embark on their new and exciting journeys to university and beyond in the knowledge that their international school has supplied the strongest possible platform from which they can achieve unprecedented success. The delighted students received a vast number of university offers from all over the globe including University of St. Andrews, University of Toronto and University Wisconsin.

Lilla Beres, YCIS student from Hungary, will attend St. Lawrence University in New York and spoke of her time at YCIS. "I gained a lot of friends over the past 4 years and I will never forget them. I believe the friend circle in my class was absolutely amazing. As for my teachers... well, all I can say is the teachers helped me to become the person I am proud to be today!"

Alyssa Than, another successful YCIS graduate echoed Lilla's statement regarding the close bond within this year's IB group. Alyssa, from Singapore will move to England to study at Durham University. "My teachers and friends have been the most supportive group of people for the past few years. We could always ask our teachers and friends for advice and an added plus was that because we were all from different countries, it was fun that we were able to mix around and explore our different cultures in classes or through our friendships."

YCIS Beijing congratulates the students, their parents and the teaching staff who worked hard to support the IB candidates throughout the two-year IB course. With such excellent exam results the students will now be able to finalise their university plans and prepare for the next step in their lives.
