Michelle M. Mach, NBCT, Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education

Ms. Mach is committed to improving the access to education for disabled students



    GERMANTOWN, MD, January 7, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michelle Mach, NBCT, Coordinator of Longview School for the Montgomery County Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Ms. Mach has 32 years of experience in education, and has spent the last six years as coordinator of Longview School for the Montgomery County Public Schools. Her areas of expertise include adaptive physical education, school administration and special education. She is responsible for implementing educational programs for severe and profoundly disabled students, overseeing staff development, observing and analyzing staff performance to increase student achievement, budgeting, collaborating with the local community, and writing grant proposals. In addition, Ms. Mach serves as a resource to the school system and the community.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Mach held several positions in the Montgomery County Public School system, including teacher in the extended school year services program, summer extended learning opportunities site coordinator, assistant principal, and instructional specialist in special needs physical education. She became involved in her profession because she enjoys working with children and making a positive difference in their lives. The highlight of her career was becoming a national board certified teacher in 2007.

Ms. Mach holds a master's degree in physical education and a Bachelor of Science, both from Adelphi University. She also earned an Administration Certification from Towson University, and is a Certified Administrator II. Additionally, she earned an Advanced Professional Teaching Certification in Physical Education for kindergarten through 12th grade. Ms. Mach is a member of MCAP, ASCD, the National Education Association, Council for Exceptional Children, and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue working in school administration, specifically improving the access to education for severe and profoundly disabled students.
