Homewood suites by Hilton partners with the National Coalition for the Homeless in the Hilton hhonors giving back program

Hilton offers opportunity for guests to give back to the community when they travel

/24-7PressRelease/ - June 20, 2007 - Homewood Suites by Hilton, the national brand of upscale, all-suite, residential-style hotels, is offering a simple option for guests wishing to give to a philanthropic cause and help those in need.

Homewood Suites guests who are HHonors members can donate their guest reward points which go towards a cash donation to the National Coalition for the Homeless, through The Hilton Family of Hotels' Hilton HHonors Giving Back Program. The program, launched in February 2006, celebrates a select collection of philanthropic groups that many Hilton Family brands are currently working with. Every 10,000 points equals a $25 contribution*.

Homewood Suites is a partner of the National Coalition for the Homeless, a national advocacy organization working to end homelessness by focusing on the areas of housing, economic, and health-care justice, as well as civil and voting rights. In addition to a $25,000 contribution, Homewood Suites donates its furniture, refrigerators, bedding and bath goods to shelters as it upgrades guest rooms throughout the 200-property chain. Additionally, Homewood Suites, in partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless, held a three-day drive at the brand's Memphis headquarters in July 2006 to collect new and/or gently used duffel bags, totes, and backpacks. The duffel bag drive ended in a city-wide donation to local homeless shelters.

"Through Homewood Suites' partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless, we hope to encourage our guests to support their charitable work," said Rebecca Wyatt, vice president of brand management, Homewood Suites by Hilton. "Homewood is considered by many of our guests to be a home away from home and we feel that all people are entitled to a home-like atmosphere in their lives. The National Coalition for the Homeless strives to provide those less fortunate with various provisions so they can have a place to call home as well."
