Bahamian, Caribbean & African-American Producers & Talent At Special Bahamian American Arts Festival

The best Bahamian, Caribbean & African American talent are converging on New York City on August 24, 2007 at 4pm. Singers, musicians, actors, movie directors, film producers, painters, models, and others will be displaying their masterpieces, DVDs, and/or performing.



    /24-7PressRelease/ - NEW YORK, NY, July 01, 2007 - Talented artists and entrepreneurs of Bahamian and Caribbean ancestry are showcasing their works and talent at a special event being held near the United Nations on August 24, 2007, 4pm to 9pm. The Bahamian American Arts Festival is being hosted by the Bahamas Consulate General New York, under the distinguished patronage of the Bahamian Consul General, Mr. Eldred Bethel, and special invited guests including dignitaries, independent movie producers, writers, performers, entrepreneurs, etc. In addition to participants receiving some media coverage, outstanding performers and creators will receive a special certificate at the end of the event.

There will be two primary divisions; the Bahamian- American division will feature creators and talented persons who have Bahamian ancestry. The Regional division will feature persons of Caribbean and African-American Ancestry. Milo Baptis, Co-Organizer of the event states, "This will be a wonderful opportunity for creative entrepreneurs and performers to promote their DVDs, books and talents to the world while meeting diplomats, museum owners, record label executives and colleagues from other islands. Further, it should forge stronger alliances between Caribbean and African-American artists." As an added attraction, a special segment will feature artistic creations, videos, literature and performances by children and teens. Additionally, a brand new Bahamian inspired dance will be unveiled and performed live. The event will feature painters, sculptures, vocalists, writers, models, producers, dancers, poets, producers, etc.

Some participants will have the opportunity to discuss movie, music video and other appearances; while there will also be research into ways to utilize the Internet and new technologies to promote Bahamian, Caribbean and African-American creations and creators.

The schedule of events during the Bahamian-American Arts festival will include displays of products, performances, photo opportunities, and more. Deadline for entry is fast approaching so interested parties are invited to submit their materials now. All submissions will receive a special BAAF Certificate Of Participation.
