Radiohead Ready to Rock London's O2 Arena, Report LondonTown.com

The award-winning band comes to London for a back-to-back double set.

LONDON, ENGLAND, October 02, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Phil Selway and Ed O'Brien comprise Britain's most revolutionary modern day band. Radiohead, who hail from Abingdon in leafy Oxfordshire, bring their impressive and award-winning back catalogue to London's O2 arena on 8 and 9 October 2012 in an exciting back-to-back set. A band that needs no real introduction, Radiohead have made their place in music history with a series of ever-evolving albums and epic live shows. All the details of the October gigs, including handy advice on local accommodation and cheap London hotels, can be found on the capital's favourite entertainment site, LondonTown.com.

Radiohead formed in 1985 and have, since then, won the loyalty of fans all over the globe. Their first single, Creep, became a worldwide hit only after the release of first album, Pablo Honey (1993.) The band are known for their explorative and different sound, taking influence from old style rock like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Pink Floyd as well as from electronica and hip hop.

Each of Radiohead's albums marks a cornerstone in their musical evolution, with early albums The Bends (1995) and OK Computer (1997) offering atmospheric, almost avant-garde tones. Ok Computer certainly boosted the band's global popularity with tracks Paranoid Android, Karma Police and No Surprises earning recognition among pundits and critics alike and continue to remain some of Radiohead's most notable songs. 2000's release of Kid A proved controversial as critics labelled the mixture of electronic beats, jazz horns and strings as "difficult" but tracks like Optimistic kept fans loyal and crowned Radiohead as masters of composition. 2001's Amnesiac was nominated for a Grammy Award and the Mercury Music Prize.

Hail to the Thief (2003) and In Rainbows (released in 2007 via digital download) both achieved critical acclaim, the latter being notably considered a lot more accessible than any previous work. Latest, and to some, considered the greatest, Kings of Limbs (2011) fuses folk rock and psychedelic sounds. Indeed, Radiohead's seemingly never ending list of singles and titles will thrill fans at the O2 this month as a thrilling musical journey is performed in one of the best arenas in the world!

LondonTown.com can recommend a host of cheap London hotels for fans coming to the O2 (Greenwich) from outside of London. Reliable hoteliers such as the Holiday Inn Express and Ibis are situated minutes from the arena.
