Breast Lift Incision Options

Aging, genetics, and pregnancy and nursing can take individual tolls, but collectively can make you look and feel much less confident in the appearance of your breasts.

ATLANTA, GA, November 28, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- There are a number of factors that can combine to make your breasts sag and look less perky. Aging, genetics, and pregnancy and nursing can take individual tolls, but collectively can make you look and feel much less confident in the appearance of your breasts. A board-certified* plastic surgeon can assess your breasts, determine the extent of your ptosis (sagging) and help you decide if breast lift surgery is right for you.

Breast Lift Incisions
There are three incision options common in breast lift surgery:
- Around the areola
- Around the areola and vertically to the breast crease
- Around the areola, vertically to the breast crease, and along the crease beneath your breast

Through these incisions, your breast surgeon will remove excess fat and skin, reshape underlying breast tissue, and reposition your nipple. The end result is a higher presentation of both breast and nipple, and a noticeably firmer, more youthful appearance.

Breast Lift with Breast Augmentation
Many breast surgeons will recommend combining a breast lift with breast augmentation. The factors that result in ptosis frequently result in a loss of volume as well, making these two procedures ideally suited to complement one another.

Incisions used for breast augmentation are incredibly similar to those used for breast lifts, allowing your plastic surgeon to easily insert either saline or silicone breast implants through the same incisions used to reshape and firm breast tissue.

This option is ideal for many, but not all women. During your initial consultation with an experienced breast surgeon, it can be determined which procedure or combination of procedures is best suited to meet your aesthetic goals.

If you live in or around Atlanta, Georgia and would like to learn more about the breast lift procedure alone or with breast augmentation, please visit the website of Marietta Plastic Surgery for additional information at http://mariettaplasticsurgery.com.
