Fight Lupus with a Gift of Hope this Holiday Season as Molly's Fund Launches its Seasons of Giving Campaign

During the Holiday Season, Molly's Fund Fighting Lupus raises money for medicines, support and medical care - it's their Seasons of Giving Campaign.

PORTLAND, OR, November 28, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thousands in the Northwest suffer from lupus, a painful and debilitating disease that is more common than most diseases, yet is one of the least recognized and understood. Lupus is an auto-immune disorder that allows the body to ravage its self, thinking that normal organs and tissues are invading foreign bodies... It's frightening, unbelievably painful at times, and without a cure. The disease strikes primarily women, though men are affected as well, and because the disease robs a person of being able to work and function in society, many end up losing their jobs, careers and livelihood. Without health insurance, lupus also has a high mortality rate, one of the few diseases that has this unfortunate statistic.

Molly McCabe has lupus, and she started, along with her mother, a non-profit that raises money for education, awareness and advocacy - Molly's Fund Fighting Lupus. During the Holiday Season, they also raise money for medicines, support and medical care - it's their Seasons of Giving Campaign.

Fight Lupus with a Gift of Hope! Visit www.MollysFund.org to donate to their Seasons of Giving campaign and make a difference.

Molly and her foundation are asking for donations during the holiday season to continue their hard work of supporting those with lupus. Their campaign is straight forward - go after the needs of lupus patients and sufferers and help make a difference.

Below are the most common needs, and they make it simple to designate a level:

Your gift of $1000 will help cover the medical/care costs for the average lupus patient for one month.
Your gift of $500 provides one lupus patient with a year's worth of CelCept, a disease modifying drug.
Your gift of $250 provides the co-pay for one Benlysta treatment for a lupus patient.
Your gift of $100 covers Molly's Fund's costs of running our support groups for one month.
Your gift of $50 can help a lupus patient with transportation to and from a doctor's visit.
Your gift of $25 can take care of one patient's co-pay for a doctor visit.
Your gift of $10 will help one patient pay for a one month supply of Prednisone.

The hard truth about lupus is that it is more common than leukemia, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy combined. More than 1.5 million Americans suffer from this auto-immune disease, yet it is one of the least recognized and difficult to diagnose - and there is no cure. Lupus symptoms include fevers, intense fatigue, loss of appetite, constant rashes, hair loss, swollen glands, sensitivity to light, joint and chest pains, ulcers in the mouth and nose.

Give the gift of hope this holiday season, and help Molly and her foundation make a difference for those with lupus in the northwest.
