Pardee Homes' Amy Glad Named Chair of California Building Industry Association

    LOS ANGELES, CA, December 06, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pardee Homes is pleased to announce that Amy Glad, Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs, has been elected the 2013 Chair of the Board of Directors for the California Building Industry Association (CBIA). Glad is the first woman to hold the top governing post in the Association's 69- year history.

Glad was elected at CBIA's Annual Meeting in Sacramento, where the leadership team of the 3,200-member companies met to establish 2013 state legislative and regulatory priorities. Glad stressed the critical role of a united approach to reform the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), a renewed statewide school bond, and CBIA membership revenue development to maintain a superior advocacy program.

As CBIA Chair, Glad expects to benefit from CBIA involvement that began in 1991, when she joined the association as a staff member. "As I began working with some of the industry's most creative, tenacious and optimistic people, I knew I had found my career niche with homebuilders," she said. "In my new role as Chair, I'm excited to continue CBIA's advocacy for fulfilling a basic human need--quality shelter in all its variety."

Glad joined Los Angeles-based Pardee Homes in 2001, and was promoted in 2006 to Senior Vice President, Governmental Affairs. Prior to that, Glad worked on the state level as assistant to the Secretary of Environmental Affairs during the Deukmejian administration.

A member of the California Bar, Amy Glad attended McGeorge School of Law and practiced land use and environmental law with the Baker & McKenzie law firm. She holds a Masters in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley and a bachelor's degree from Stanford University.

CBIA is a statewide trade association based in Sacramento.
