Video Training Helps Job Seekers Find Work Online

The nation's premier eLearning company has released a video-based training program to help job seekers find employment by building a personal brand, using keyword-optimized online resumes as well as social media tools such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

ST. GEORGE, UT, January 22, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- LearnKey announced today the release of an industry first video-based elearning course designed to help new grads and other job seekers find employment online. The course, titled Job Hunting in a Digital World, unleashes current best practices and industry tips that develop the necessary skills to successfully navigate today's increasingly complex online job market.

Consider these facts from recent industry surveys:
- These days, it takes an average of more than 7 months for unemployed Americans to find work
- Typical job seekers spend anywhere from 5 hours - 20 hours per week on their job search

HOWEVER...

- The average employer spends just six seconds reviewing each candidate resume

That's right. Candidates may spend hours, weeks and months hunting for job, but all that time and effort may boil down to just six seconds!

"In this ultra-competitive market, today's job seekers must secure an advantage in how to find the best jobs online," says Jeff Coruccini, LearnKey's CEO. "If you're on the hunt for a new job, you can't afford to waste precious time figuring out how to land the right job for you and your skills. Our course will give you the best possible chance for success."

Job Hunting in a Digital Word is taught by recruiting industry expert Sharon Bondurant, CEO and founder of AZ Techfinders, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based information technology (IT) recruiting company.

"Sharon's 14 years of job recruiting experience in the competitive IT industry is second to none," says Coruccini. "In this course, Sharon offers insider knowledge on successfully building a digital resume, navigating online job searches, and impressing prospective employers via social media outlets."

Social media and online search profiles are key to finding a job online, according to recent research. In fact,
- Nearly 75% of recruiters check job candidates' social media profiles. About half of hiring managers research social profiles even if the job seeker did not provide this information.
- More than 7 out of 10 employers have successfully hired a candidate through social media.
- More than 50 percent of hiring managers now use Twitter for their talent search; 66 percent use Facebook and 93 percent use LinkedIn.

"Career and job readiness is so important in today's workforce, and I am extremely pleased with the content and objectives we deliver through this interactive video-based learning course," says Bondurant. "It was important that we make sure the material is relevant and accurate with how job hunting is done successfully in the digital landscape."

The Job Hunting in a Digital World course is available for $99. To learn more or to purchase the course, visit www.learnkey.com/jobhunting or call toll-free 1-800-865-0165.
