/24-7PressRelease/ - DETROIT, MI, September 14, 2007 -- Charter One, a leading [http://www.charterone.com/pf/mortgages/CharterOneMortgage-Michigan.aspx]Michigan mortgage lender and provider of [http://www.charterone.com/pf/checking/LocalPersonalCheckingDetroit.aspx]checking accounts in Detroit, is joining the racing action at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix by showcasing The Royal Bank of Scotland Group's (RBS) F1 simulator during race days.

The RBS F1 simulator is a replica of the AT&T WilliamsF1 Team Grand Prix car. Charter One's corporate parent RBS is the exclusive banking partner to The WilliamsF1 Team. The simulator is an interactive display that will allow guests in the Charter One Fountain Side Suites and Chalets to take the Charter One Challenge and test their driving skills against American Le Mans Series Dominik Farnbacher of Tafel Racing.

In addition to bragging rights, each time an RBS F1 challenger posts a faster time than Farnbacher, a $1,000 donation will be made from the Charter One Foundation to Forgotten Harvest, metropolitan Detroit's only food rescue. Forgotten Harvest will be on Belle Isle rescuing surplus food for local area emergency food providers.

"Charter One is excited to help support the return of world-class racing to Detroit and contribute to the preservation and improvement of Belle Isle," said Sandy Pierce, President, Charter One, Michigan. "The RBS F1 simulator is a unique and interactive experience for race fans. Taking the Charter One Challenge adds thrill to the days' events but also helps raise awareness of hunger in our region by supporting Forgotten Harvest."

Each dollar raised from the [http://www.charterone.com/pf/banking/CharterOneLocalBanking-Michigan.aspx]Michigan bank's Charter One Challenge will enable Forgotten Harvest to provide six nutritional meals to children, families and seniors in the tri-county area.
