Carol I. Watkins Named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Consulting

Carol I. Watkins develops policies, procedures, forms and social service case management databases for tribes wishing to administer their own Title IV-E Program



    GARDNERVILLE, NEVADA, May 8, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carol I. Watkins, Tribal Title IV-E Consultant and Contractor, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in Tribal consulting.

Over the course of a successful career, Ms. Watkins has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience, and she currently develops the required policies, procedures and forms for tribes to submit a Title IV-E plan to the federal government for approval. Title IV-E is the section of the Social Security Act that provides reimbursement to states and tribes for subsidies paid to foster parents, guardians and adoptive parents who care for children removed from their homes as a result of abuse and neglect. Ms. Watkins shines as a luminary in her field, and strives for excellence in her every endeavor. She has garnered a reputation of distinction for her commitment to helping others, earning the King County Sheriff Commander Award for outstanding service to the community in 1999.

She attributes her success to her great work ethic, her willingness to take risks, her continual pursuit of knowledge, keeping abreast of technical advances, and her ability to stay motivated. She became involved in her current profession because she has a passion for helping children.

Ms. Watkins was a paralgeal in Seattle for 18 years, where she managed complex and catastrophic injury cases. She also served as a contract paralegal for complex contract litigation cases, managing more than
1 million discovery documents. Additionally, Ms. Watkins coordinated with the University of Washington and local and state bar associations to conduct continuing legal education seminars and she has since built on an ever emergent skill set.

In Seattle, Carol was actively involved in the Washington State Paralegal Association, a member of the King County Bar Association and Washington State Trial Association Paralegal Sections. She was nominated for the King County Bar Association Non-lawyer of the Year award in 1995. Carol volunteered as a member and chair of the King County Superior Court Juvenile Diversion Conference Committee for 7 years, adjudicating and counseling first-time offender youth, and was a member of the Citizens' Advisory Committee for the King County Department of Youth Services for 5 years. She graduated from the King County Police Citizens' Academy in 1994, from King County Police Community Policing Instructors' Training in 1996 and co-instructed the Community Oriented Policing course at the Police Academy in 1997. She volunteered for the King County Police from 1995-1999.

In 2000, Carol began working for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA). She was promoted from Administrative Assistant to Office Manager, then to Facilities/Safety Manager/Operations Team Leader and remained with the Agency until 2009. Carol was the Agency representative on the Sierra Nevada Domestic Terrorism Working Group and a member of the California Association of Public Purchasing Officers.

Ms. Watkins received a Bachelor of Science in Safety Engineering from Kennedy-Western University.

In the years to come, Ms. Watkins hopes to expand her business to help more children.
