Chamber Orchestra Executive Director Peter H. Gistelinck Appointed to Advisory Board of The World Soundtrack Academy and World Soundtrack Awards

Peter H. Gistelinck, Executive Director of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, has been appointed as an Advisory Board Member to The World Soundtrack Academy and the annual World Soundtrack Awards.

Gistelinck, Executive Director of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, has been appointed as an Advisory Board Member to The World Soundtrack Academy and the annual World Soundtrack Awards. The Academy promotes the activity of composers and their film music, and their awards are considered to be among the most significant for this genre of music.

"We are excited to have Mr. Gistelinck join our Advisory Board," remarked Dirk Brosse, Music Director of the Ghent International Film Festival, the parent organization of the World Soundtrack Academy. The World Soundtrack Academy was launched in 2001 by the Ghent International Film Festival and is aimed at organizing and overseeing the educational, cultural and professional aspects of the art of film music, including the preservation of the history of the soundtrack, and its worldwide promotion. Together with the Ghent International Film Festival, the World Soundtrack Academy will also develop initiatives that are aimed at offering a strong platform to emerging film music talent in Europe.

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia is a founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and performs from September through May in its home, the intimate Perelman Theater.
