Nicaragua Continues to be an Attractive Place to Live and Visit

Nicaragua once again placed as one of the best destinations in the world to live in by International Living Magazine, due to its high safety levels, low cost of living, its tropical climate and the incentives offered to investors.

WASHINGTON, DC, June 07, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicaragua once again placed as one of the best destinations in the world to live in by International Living Magazine, due to its high safety levels, low cost of living, its tropical climate and the incentives offered to investors for new tourism projects.

According to the magazine, the cost of living is 60 percent lower than in the United States. A couple can live well on US$1,000 a month, and that includes food, rent and utility bills.

Nicaragua's security levels, one of the main reasons why Nicaragua is so appealing to foreigners, have gained international recognition as it has become one of the safest countries in the Western Hemisphere. The latest CID Gallup security poll also confirms the reduction of crime levels in the country, showing that Nicaragua's proportion of citizens that report having been robbed in the last four months was the lowest in the region, including Panama and the Dominican Republic.

International Living commented that "Nicaragua is finally going mainstream. A country once viewed with suspicion and misconceptions is now home to eco-lodges, spas, and restored colonials," adding that "Families and retirees have begun to flock there."

Furthermore, a recent article published by CNN placed the beaches of Nicaragua's Little Corn Island among the 100 best in the world. According to the article, the beaches at Little Corn Island are "low key, undeveloped and languid", making it a perfect destination for tourists seeking a laid-back, relaxed vacation. For tourist looking for some adventure, the island is also a "great spot for diving and snorkeling."

Nicaragua is also an attractive destination for investors thanks to its low labor costs, its geographical location and generous fiscal incentives. In 2012, Wyndham, the world's largest hotel company with over 7,340 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, announced it will be opening in 2014 a Wyndham Hotels and Resorts on Nicaragua's Pacific Coast, making it Wyndham's first opening in Nicaragua.
