Pamela J. Hine Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Housing

Ms. Hine honored with the QueenElizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of excellent work for Habitat for Humanity Canada



    WHITEHORSE, CANADA, June 13, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pamela J. Hine, President of Yukon Housing Corporation, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in housing.

Shortly after graduating high school, Ms. Hine embarked on an entry-level position in the social housing field with the federal government. She quickly gained recognition for her professionalism and superb productivity. Ms. Hine was quickly promoted to management, before earning a senior position. She has since held executive-level positions in the housing industry for the past 12 years. From 2000 to 2003, Ms. Hine served as President of the Nunavut Housing Corporation and, from 2003 to 2006 she worked as Deputy Minister of Education for the Nunavut Government. Passionate about affordable housing, she assumed the position as Deputy Minister of Community and Government Services in 2006. In 2007, Ms. Hine moved to Yukon, as Deputy Minister of Education for the Government of Yukon. Since 2012, Ms. Hine holds the roles of President of the Yukon Liquor Corporation, President of the Yukon Lotteries Commission and President of the Yukon Housing Corporation, a government entity which builds and maintains affordable housing through Yukon.

With strengths in business relations, real estate development, and change management, Ms. Hine oversees all aspects of housing. She is responsible for moving Yukon Housing Corporation in a forward direction through the implementation of strategic plans, as well as the management of budget and legislation. Drawing on her educational background, which includes a diploma in urban land economics from the University of British Columbia, and as a Certified Leasing Officer and a Certified Property Manager, Ms. Hine has developed a skill set for working with key stakeholders. She also supervises, mentors, and advises a staff of 180 people when combining all three corporations. With 32 years of professional experience, Ms. Hine plans to introduce change management to the corporations and eventually, move into the private sector. Ever eager to keep abreast of changes in her field, she aims to network and consult with professionals nationwide.



In 2009, Ms. Hine was named one of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network. In 2012, she was inducted into Worldwide Who's Who as a lifetime member. Since her inclusion, she has been selected as a VIP member and featured in an article for Pro-Files magazine. In 2013, Ms. Hine was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of excellent work with Habitat for Humanity Canada. She feels her success can be most aptly attributed to seizing opportunities, support from her peers and mentors, and empowering staff to achieve their goals.

Naturally philanthropic, Ms. Hine is the treasurer of Habitat for Humanity Canada. She is also director of Little Footprints, Big Steps, an organization that strives to continually provide Haitian children with appropriate shelter, food and education through strategic projects to build sustainable lives one step at a time.
