Jerry H. Thrush, MD, Named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year for Excellence in Emergency Medicine

    SAN DIEGO, CA, June 25, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jerry H. Thrush, MD, Emergency Physician for Sharp HealthCare, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Emergency Medicine. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline is chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Sharp HealthCare is a healthcare leader in the greater San Diego area and Dr. Thrush is delighted to be a Sharp Physician. On a day-to-day basis, Dr. Thrush examines patients, diagnoses medical problems, performs emergency surgeries and treats illnesses in emergency situations. In addition to his daily responsibilities, Dr. Thrush provides medical expert witness consultation in legal cases and has done so for more than 10 years.
Dr. Thrush's experience in emergency medicine began more than 30 years ago with training as an EMT in 1981. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has served 21 years as an emergency physician for Sharp HealthCare. He is a licensed physician and surgeon by the states of California and Oregon. Dr. Thrush presently practices at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California, a level II trauma center. Prior to his current roles, he served as Medical Director of Lifecare Medical Transportation and Director of EMS at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Outside of the hospital setting, Dr. Thrush is a writer and editor. He is an author and editor of "The Fallen Leaf Anthology," volumes 1 - 3 and the editor of the medical memoir, "From Paralysis to Praise."

Attributing his success to his hard work and dedication, Dr. Thrush became involved in his profession because he always had an interest in biological science and service to others. He is affiliated with the Medical Alumni Association of Stanford University and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Thrush's educational credits include a residency in emergency medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident in Emergency Medicine. He received his doctor of medicine from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in biology from Loma Linda University. He has taken additional training in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine at the NOAA facility in Seattle. His academic achievement has garnered recognition from Who's Who Among Students in American

Colleges and Universities as well as a student research associate grant from the American Heart Association. For recreation, Dr. Thrush enjoys writing and editing short stories, sailing, SCUBA diving and playing the electric violin. In the coming years, he hopes to do more writing, consulting and lecturing.
