New Social Network for Parents

The go to place to active families... and those who serve them.

BOSTON, MA, July 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Imagine having the social connectivity of Facebook, the local focus of Yelp and the educational component of a parenting magazine all on one easy-to-use website. ZNAKA.com--billing itself as a "new breed" of social media websites--has combined the best of multiple social media platforms to create an on-line "social neighborhood for parents," offering multipurpose connectivity with other parents and their communities. Think of it as a neighborhood block party on the internet.

"ZNAKA.com is a place where parents can meet other parents for fun, to discuss important concerns, join social or school groups, or plan and execute events within their local community," says ZNAKA CEO Daniel Barenboym. "Parents can also gain access to local service providers or get information on early childhood education or parenting."

ZNAKA's extensive database of localized information is Barenboym's dreamchild. The professional researcher has been developing the site for nearly five years, compiling listings on virtually everything parents might want or need to know about what's going on in their neighborhoods. Members can access live feeds providing real-time updates on events, activities, sales, promotions and other special deals. ZNAKA is informatics at its best.

Several major features of the site revolve around creating "neighborhoods," which parents define by setting its radius, what type of information they want in their news feeds and where the information comes from, such as if you want to limit information to come from just a 20 mile radius. "The user can control that," Barenboym says. "Moreover, you can have more than one neighborhood, which can be beneficial, say, if your kids spend every weekend with an ex-spouse."

The benefits of using ZNAKAare multifold. Thanks to the ease of setting up interest groups, parents can easily communicate with other parents on specific topics, such as autism, and discuss shared concerns with other parents with similar challenges, in addition to getting advice on available local services. Furthermore, the private message center feature allows for impromtu, breakaway private discussions with other parents. Parents can also use the site to find and research local activites, meet and plan events or play dates with other local parents, or manage a large number of diverse after school activites for multiple children.

There's also a very real education component to ZNAKA. In addition to learning from other more experienced parents through groups and discussion, the site regularly posts original articles on a variety of topics such as, "10 Field Trip Ideas for Parents," and "Manners Your Kid Should Know by Age Six." Articles cover topics from child reading tips, to education, to activity guides. According to Barenboym, while creating the site his focus was always on helping parents get access to the information they need, so including a regular flow of informative and entertaining articles was a no brainer.

But where ZNAKA really succeeds is with connection. "Humans have a need for connection with other people and to something larger than themselves, whether it's a relationship, a group, an organization, or a community," Barenboym says. "ZNAKA offers more ways for parents to connect, which not only can make child rearing a little easier, but give our lives deeper meaning as well."

The official launch date for ZNAKA.com is July, 30, 2013.
