Rena M. Rockwell Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Education

Rena Rockwell helps to design a 21st-century technology-rich learning environment



    ST. LOUIS, MO, August 6, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rena M. Rockwell, Adjunct Professor at Webster University and Director of Professional Development for the Ritenour School District, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

On a semester basis, Ms. Rockwell teaches online graduate-level education classes as an adjunct professor for Webster University. Some of her courses include "Designing Technology-Supported Learning Environments," and "Technology and Differentiated Instruction and Technology for English/Language Arts." On a day-to-day basis, she serves as a district leader in the Ritenour school district, where she implements the change process to help educators meet 21st century standards. She creates professional development programs and designs effective online learning environments for the district, in addition to contributing to regional professional development in several St. Louis learning organizations.

Ms. Rockwell has 20 years of experience in education, including 12 years as an adjunct professor and more than six years as the director of professional development. Her areas of expertise include curriculum design, grant writing, e-learning, staff development, educational leadership and educational technology. In addition to her roles with Webster University and Ritenour School District, Ms. Rockwell worked for the Clayton School District in professional development and technology integration.

Demonstrating extensive experience in education and technology, Ms. Rockwell attributes her success to doing things that are both groundbreaking and collaborative. She became involved in her profession because of her ability to assess the educational needs of children and adults. Her affiliations include the International Society for Technology in Education.

Ms. Rockwell received her master's degree, plus 30 additional credits as a technology specialist from Webster University. She has an Ed.S. in educational leadership and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in education. In the years to come, Ms. Rockwell plans to complete a doctorate.
