Atlanta Homeless Shelters, Atlanta Mission, Will Provide 330,000 Nights of Shelter This Year

Atlanta Mission will provide nightly shelter to over 950 homeless men, women, and children in 2013.

DUNWOODY, GA, August 14, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta Mission, a nonprofit organization operating homeless shelters in Atlanta, is pleased to announce that it will provide over 330,000 nights of shelter to homeless people across the Atlanta metro area during 2013. This number is an improvement over last year's statistic, which saw 318,000 individual nights of shelter.

"Thanks to the power of God and the generosity of Atlanta residents, we are able to give more homeless people shelter than ever before," says Josh Deyton, Director of External Marketing of Atlanta Mission. "We know how important having access to safe and clean shelters is towards working a way out of homelessness, and we are overjoyed to be able to offer so many homeless men, women, and children the shelter they need while they struggle to find permanent housing."

In addition to providing shelter to hundreds of Atlanta's homeless, Atlanta Mission provides thousands of meals daily, resources to find employment, and programs to enrich the lives of the homeless and the at-risk. The Christian non-profit organization also operates several thrift stores in Atlanta and the surrounding area that directly benefit the homeless.

As Atlanta's oldest non-profit benefiting the homeless, Atlanta Mission endeavors to end the homeless problem in the city and its surrounding metro area. It bases its services on the teachings of Christ, who encouraged His followers to love their neighbors as they would themselves--the very teaching that inspired Atlanta Mission to pursue its work building Atlanta homeless shelters and extensive homelessness support network.
