Plastic Surgeon Introduces HydraSolve Liposuction to Northern N.J.

Dr. Richard A. D'Amico says liposuction patients at his Englewood, N.J. practice can benefit from the gentle, innovative alternative to traditional body contouring. Dr. D'Amico is the first plastic surgeon in the area offering the technique.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ, September 01, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- HydraSolve liposuction is a new innovative body contouring treatment that removes fat without damaging surrounding tissues. The procedure is based on the same patented Tissue Liquefaction Technology (TLT) that is used for precision cataract surgery. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Richard D'Amico offers this breakthrough approach to liposuction in N.J., and is the first plastic surgeon in northern New Jersey to offer the new technology.

"I have found this to be one of the most precise methods for targeting fat cells without damaging surrounding tissue," says Dr. D'Amico. The technology allows the surgeon greater control to target fat tissue while avoiding surrounding blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. By avoiding damage to surrounding tissues, patients may feel less post-operative pain and have less swelling and bruising.

Dr. D'Amico is on the board of trustees at the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He has more than 25 years of experience as a plastic surgeon and was named one of the best doctors in New York and New Jersey by New York Magazine and New Jersey Monthly.

"I've always been interested in incorporating the newest technology into my practice, especially when it can significantly improve a patient's recovery," states Dr. D'Amico who has been offering the procedure to his New Jersey plastic surgery patients.

HydraSolve liposuction employs a low temperature/low-pressurized saline stream to simultaneously liquefy and remove fat. It uses a unique rounded aperture that eliminates the need for forceful thrusting. The gentle nature of the procedure makes it a good complement for other body contouring procedures such as tummy tuck. At his N.J. practice, Dr. D'Amico often uses HydraSolve to refine the results of other procedures.

Plastic surgery technology is continually evolving to improve procedural processes for both patient and surgeon, but the new technology requires the knowledge to use a product effectively. "It's important that a patient choose a board-certified plastic surgeon when selecting a doctor," says Dr. D'Amico. "Board-certified plastic surgeons are required to undergo rigorous training in trauma and cosmetic practices and remain current with the latest technologies." Dr. D'Amico was the president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) in 2008. Only board-certified plastic surgeons are eligible for membership in the ASPS.

Dr. Richard D'Amico (www.drdamico.com) is a board-certified plastic surgeon and 2008 president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. D'Amico earned his medical degree from New York University and has years of experience in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures, in addition to extensive training through residencies in general and plastic surgery. Dr. D'Amico has received extensive recognition for his achievements, including numerous awards as well as several upper-level professional appointments, serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and as co-chair of the ASPS Breast Implant Task Force, where he gave key testimony on breast implant safety to the FDA.
