Mr. Wandawanda has 25 years of experience in information technology, with three years as global customer development and information technology process director for Unilever, where he expertly leads the company in turnaround and building strong execution teams. Unilever is an Anglo-Dutch multinational health and wellness products manufacturer that provides consumer goods, including foods, beverages, and cleaning and personal care items. They own 400 brands, of which 13 are billion dollar euro brands. Top sellers for the company include Hellmann's, Knorr, Lipton, Magnum, Ben & Jerry's, Aviance, Axe, Dove, Flora, TRESemme, VO5, and Wish-Bone, to name a few.

Due to his breadth of experience, he is well known and widely admired among the industry for his adept execution of duties and highly regarded by his professional peers for his dedication and vast-ranging knowledge. Mr. Wandawanda has led Sales IT projects in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. Prior to his current position, he served as Unilever Nigeria Plc. Executive Customer Development Director, where he implemented and managed strategic initiatives that turned around the business and significantly enhanced the company's presence in this key market. Before this assignment, he worked as a group business systems manager for Unilever South East Africa, where he contributed to the design of core process technology solutions and managing business functions in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique. Upon the inception of the millennium, he led the implementation of the first international connectivity between sub-Sahara African Unilever companies and Unilever as part of the Unilever global infrastructure organization based out of Durban, South Africa.

He attributes his success to being a team player, being passionate and ambitious about his job, and having solid analytical, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills. He became involved in his profession because he has always been interested in the IT area and Business Process design. He has progressed in the industry after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Computer Science from the University of Malawi in 1986, and has never looked back. He will be earning a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD in December 2013. He is one of the founding members of Grace Retreat Centre and the Elim Micro Finance Bank in Lagos, Nigeria. As giving back to others is important to him, he was a member of the Umhlanga Chapter of the Rotary Club in Durban, South Africa and was the assistant board clerk of Lagos Presbyterian Church in Nigeria. In addition, he supports indigenous small-grocery owners in the Dubai Region through the Baqala Program in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. In Malawi, he and his wife, Jessie, help out their neighborhood and immediate community in a small way by providing potable water to surrounding households. They are the proud parents of three sons, Kennedy and Wilson, who attend college in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and Dalitso, who is working in Malawi with a prestigious insurance company. Outside of his professional career, he enjoys travelling, outdoor activities by the beautiful Lake Malawi resorts, visiting game reserves, and the company of friends and family. In five years, Mr. Wandawanda intends to experience continued growth, managing a medium-to-large business unit in Africa or the South East Asia region.
