Andrew Proebstl Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Superannuation and Financial Services

    MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, October 8, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andrew Proebstl, Chief Executive of legalsuper, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in superannuation and financial services.

Drawing on two and a half decades of broad experience in his field, Mr. Proebstl oversees a wide range of responsibilities on behalf of legalsuper, the $2.0 billion superfund for Australia's legal profession. As Chief Executive, he oversees and guides the management team that operates the fund in accordance with strategies and policies set by the board. He also handles media relations, as well as mergers and acquisitions, and management of legalsuper's investment portfolio.

Mr. Proebstl first became involved in his profession starting his career in the external audits of superannuation funds, as an auditor for Arthur Andersen. From there, he went on to become the Manager of Fund Accounting at Jacques Martin Industry (now known as SuperPartners) responsible for all client financial reporting. Mr. Proebstl then transitioned to an Account Manager role being the client relationship management interface between Jacques Martin Industry and a number of its large industry super fund clients. Mr. Proebstl then worked with Local Authorities Super and Vanguard Investments Australia. Mr. Proebstl was Deputy Fund Secretary of the Legal Industry Superannuation Scheme (the predecessor fund of legalsuper where he now works). He was also a Director of Ernst & Young establishing a superannuation consultancy practice at this firm. In addition to his deep and extensive industry experience, Mr. Proebstl has acquired educational credentials that have helped him excel in the field. He was awarded a financial planning proper authority by the Securities Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also received a diploma of superannuation management from Macquarie University.

In order to remain professionally affiliated with the industry, Mr. Proebstl is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australian Superannuation Institute of Trustees, Associations of Superannuation Funds of Australia and the Fund Executives Association Limited. Mr. Proebstl is a member of Policy Committee of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees and a former Director of that organisation and was also a former member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia.
