Katy M. Larsen Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Graphic Design

Ms. Larsen was inspired by the tragic loss of her daughter to create keepsakes for grieving mothers everywhere

TOMS RIVER, NJ, October 18, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ --Katy Larsen, Owner, Author, Graphic Artist, and Architectural Renderer of Somewhere Over the Rainbow LLC, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Ms. Larsen has 12 years of professional experience, with three years as the owner of Somewhere Over the Rainbow LLC. As an expert in graphic art and design, woodworking, crafts and writing, she is responsible for marketing her company, and handling production. In addition, she handles all business-related aspects of the company. Somewhere Over the Rainbow LLC is a custom items gift shop which provides customized, personal creations for families, babies, and lost babies alike. These items include baby age blocks, name blocks, birth blocks, memory boxes, pregnancy and infant loss remembrance items, memorial plaques and candle holders. Shop proceeds from remembrance items are used to gift such items to other families on similar grief journeys. Ms. Larsen would like to think that her shop encompasses the sacred connection between remembrance and hope through the support of those affected by pregnancy and infant loss. She currently resides in New Jersey with her husband and their two living children, and she can be reached through social networks at http://www.facebook.com/SOTRShop and http://www.twitter.com/sotrshop.

A caring and empathetic individual, Ms. Larsen attributes her success to her passion for helping grieving mothers in remembering and honoring their lost children. As the mother of a stillborn child herself, she is also very passionate about breaking the taboo of Pregnancy and Infant Loss. Katy is a strong activist in spreading awareness and offering comfort to those affected by Pregnancy and Infant Loss. After the loss of her daughter, she began a ministry entitled, "Delivering Hope for Hannah," in which she supplied memory boxes and bereavement education materials to those hospitals in her state without a department of Labor and Delivery. Her family suffered tragically as her own daughter, Hannah, was born in an Emergency Room. Ms. Larsen wished to educate hospitals in how to give proper care to families such as

her own, something of which they had been deprived of. More recently, she compiled and narrated a book of 62 families sharing their stories of loss and hope for the benefit of those who are or will soon, unfortunately, walk their same path. The book, "Because They Lived," also includes a journal section for recipients to pen their own story onto its pages. Proceeds from this project will benefit the community of families who have suffered loss, through marketing a better awareness and gifting books and items to families and relative non-profits. She became involved in her profession because she always held a passion for art and writing; the loss of her daughter propelled her into creating a shop for both remembrance and hope. Her driving force and inspiration in all she does is for the honor of her stillborn daughter, Hannah. Ms. Larsen states that Hannah's life has taught her more about herself and her abilities than anything else ever could have. Though her career has had many highlights, she cites the ability to help other families as the defining aspect of her job. She has difficulty expressing the feeling she gets when she hears the words "thank you" from a bereaved family that she has helped. It is incredibly humbling to honor these children and help another grieving family to heal.

Ms. Larsen received an associate degree in Graphic Arts and Design from the Brick Computer Science Institute in 2001. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and she is the author of "Mental Reflections" and "Whispers from the Well." To benefit others, she contributes to the SHARE Organization to Support and Promote Awareness of Pregnancy and Infant Loss, as well as the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund. Ms. Larsen has interviewed with TIME Magazine on "miscarriage grief," has been selected for inclusion in an award-winning author's book on women overcoming life trials, and just completed a twenty-part video series of "DIY Crafts" for Demand Media Studios. In years to come, Ms. Larsen hopes for a world which recognizes and accepts women and their desire to remember their babies. She strives to grow her business to a much higher level, and she is currently taking the steps necessary to do so. Ms. Larsen also hopes to publish more books along the way.
