LAKE LURE, NC, November 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- At the yearly meeting of its Knowledge Services Group, Ultimate Software was presented with the Herrmann International Learning Award, recognizing its commitment and application of Whole Brain Thinking to improve performance and results throughout the business.

"Ultimate Software's leadership and innovative approach to embedding Whole Brain Thinking into their business reflects the spirit of our founder Ned Herrmann's groundbreaking work," says Hermann International CEO Ann Herrmann-Nehdi, who presented the award as part of a kick-off session she delivered entitled Agile Thinking in Learning & Development. "What began as an initiative to improve team communications has now grown to encompass all levels of the organization--even their vendors and customers--and they continue to reach for new heights."

Ultimate Software joins such companies as IBM, Microsoft, Perfetti Van Melle USA and Telecom New Zealand in receiving the award, which honors organizations that are applying Whole Brain Thinking in a systematic way to fully leverage their diverse thinking for better performance and results.

"We're committed to providing the best services possible to our customers and their employees," says Rose Marie McKnight, Ultimate Software's Program Manager for Employee Learning & Development. "The Whole Brain System is a very effective way to encourage the kind of relationship-building, positive attitude and communication skills necessary to provide premium services and great HR technologies. By helping our employees maximize their strengths and collaborate more productively, it's delivering higher levels of productivity, engagement and teamwork--all of which benefit our customers."

The company, which has been offering a range of Whole Brain Thinking training solutions, including the Herrmann Brain Dominance instrument (HBDI ) assessment, for eight years, was also one of the first organizations to implement the Whole Brain Manager program for front-line managers.

"We've seen Whole Brain Thinking absorbed into the daily thought and behaviors of our employees," McKnight says. "People use the tools and skills to interact with co-workers, vendors and customers, and managers have learned how to communicate more effectively with their diverse team members based on thinking preferences. We're honored to receive this important award and look forward to continuing our relationship with Herrmann International and using its principles to make even further advances in employee engagement."

The originators and trailblazers of Whole Brain Thinking and the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI ) assessment, Herrmann International helps people, teams and organizations reach new levels of performance and results by giving them a system to apply the best thinking for the situation. The company's Whole Brain System, which includes a variety of learning solutions, facilitation resources, job aids and business tools, has helped many of the world's most successful companies, as well as countless individuals, consultants and other organizations, leverage the connection between thinking and performance to outthink, outpace and outperform the competition.
