Symtech Solutions Enters Reseller Agreement with LogicJunction for Hospital Wayfinding

"Boosting efficiency, increasing on-time appointments and improving patient satisfaction are the common denominators of everything that we do."

We looked at a number of manufacturers and evaluated them based on design, engineering and reputation in the healthcare market. LogicJunction was our first choice and only choice.

IVYLAND, PA, January 10, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today, Glenn McMinn, President of Symtech Solutions Inc., announced that the company has entered into an agreement with a developer of automated and data-driven applications - LogicJunction, Inc. of Beachwood, Ohio. The agreement will enable Symtech to resell LogicJunction's advanced hospital wayfinding system for hospitals, adding to the integrator's expanding spectrum of technology-based communication solutions for acute and sub-acute facilities in the Northeast.

Large hospitals and hospital campuses can be confusing to navigate and getting lost heightens the stress of already-anxious patients and visitors. According to McMinn, there are financial considerations as well as impacts on scheduling and patient flow. "When hospital employees try to assist, time is taken away from patient care. That's what makes wayfinding an ideal fit with nurse call, wireless emergency and other communications technologies we offer. Boosting efficiency, increasing on-time appointments and improving patient satisfaction are the common denominators of everything that we do."

LogicJunction's software addresses these inefficiencies with easy-to-navigate, interactive wayfinding solutions specifically designed for hospitals. The system provides step-by-step directions and accurate, real-time information for hospital patients and visitors through its dynamic mapping technology. Visitors can access and print detailed directions from any web browser, smart phone or at dedicated hospital wayfinding kiosks. Hospital staff can also use the system to direct patients to any location in the hospital or across a medical campus.

"As our customers become larger and more sophisticated", noted McMinn, "the solutions we offer have to transcend traditional products. Nurse call systems, for instance, have evolved to integrate with all types of mobile devices, offering optional features like asset tracking, management reporting, patient location and even smartbed technology." Wayfinding as a standalone solution or part of a large integration represented a logical step for Symtech.

According to McMinn, "We looked at a number of manufacturers and evaluated them based on design, engineering and reputation in the healthcare market. LogicJunction was our first choice and only choice." Discussions between the two companies began mid-year in 2013 with an agreement negotiated just in time to celebrate a new year. Said Mike Drozda, COO of LogicJunction, "We're thrilled to finally have Symtech Solutions onboard as a value-added reseller of LogicJunction's hospital wayfinding system. Their expertise in selling and deploying leading technology in the healthcare sector makes them a powerful addition to our distribution channel."

Adding LogicJunction's wayfinding solution to Symtech's healthcare arsenal is one more reason the future looks bright, according to McMinn. "It's been encouraging to know that the healthcare community respects the relationships we've built with major institutions over the past 32 years. It's even more gratifying to know that they support our vision as we move forward. We're excited about the future."
