/24-7PressRelease/ - HOLLYWOOD, CA, December 14, 2007 - Christmas is coming early this year, with Hollywood showing the world it knows just how to celebrate right. And no one's been more center stage than the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.

On Sunday, November 25th, the annual Hollywood Santa Parade marched its way down the world-famous Hollywood Boulevard for its 76th consecutive year, delighting the thousands of children (and adults) in attendance. Even with Santa Clause waving and reindeer trotting, it was hard to miss the major star power that showed up to celebrate, such as the reigning Queen of R&B, Mary J. Blige, the cast of Disney's mega-popular High School Musical 2, and American Idol finalist Eliot Yamin. All the celebrities, including Santa were hosted at the Renaissance hotel near Kodak Theaterthe home for the parade's official Green Room.

Proof the giving spirit is year-round, the famous hotel was an essential part of the Hollywood community's effort to save the parade, which was going to be canceled this year. Without a proper sponsor, the local business community came together and put on one of the best parades ever.

In addition to saving this necessary Hollywood tradition, the Renaissance Hollywood luxury hotel was also the official host hotel for the TV special, "A Hollywood Christmas Celebration from The Grove," that taped on November 18 at The Grove, a mall in Los Angeles. Celebrity guests Burt Bacharach and Diana Krall joined the Angel City Chorale and The Young Musicians Orchestra for a beautiful evening of song and, of course, the lighting of the gorgeous Christmas Tree.

More than fun and pageantry, the hotel also recognizes the holidays are a time to give back to those who need it most. That's why hundreds of Marriott and Renaissance Hotel employees from all around the country participated in the fifth annual Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network, a fundraiser that brought in over $1 million in essential funding for children's hospitals nationwide. Beginning in Chicago on October 26th, the relay race ended right here in Los Angeles on November 18th at the Hollywood & Highland Center, adjacent to the West Hollywood Hotel.

"It's been a very busy month for us here in Hollywood," says General Manager Bruce Gorelick, "but I think it's the best month, too. We get to see Santa ride by with his reindeer, holiday decorations everywhere, and, best of all, the real spirit of the holidays from all the cast members here at Renaissance. It doesn't get any better than that."
