REGINA, SK, March 01, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Do you have heel pain? Is it weighing heavy on your normal routine? If not treated, foot issues can kick your butt (not literally). However, leaving it untreated can cause further damage or pain. At Regina Podiatry and Orthotic Clinic, Dr. R. Bagha utilizes two different modes of treatment to help patients kick heel pain to the curb. These two treatments are deep tissue laser therapy and orthotic insoles.

"Deep tissue laser therapy and orthotic insoles have proven to be most effective when paired together. Once heel pain is treated, we stress the importance of orthotic soles for continued comfort and improvement of foot health," explains Dr. Bagha.

What is deep tissue laser therapy do?
At Regina Podiatry and Orthotic Clinic, Dr. Bagha utilizes the Theralase deep tissue laser therapy technology. Theralase is a non-invasive application of laser light that targets an isolated area, such as the heel.

When the light hits the affected area, it reaches the deep tissue structures, stimulating the chromophores and cytochromes (located in the mitochondria). The chromophores and cytochromes absorb the laser's light and convert it to chemical energy. This energy is meant to accelerate the healing process. While it speeds up the healing process, it reduces the pain.

Dr. Bagha recommends orthotic soles alongside deep tissue laser therapy. The therapy is meant to treat the issue, and the orthotic soles will address the overall cause of heel pain. Dr. Bagha can offer the best orthotics and orthopedic shoes in Regina.

That extra "pep" in your step will feel great!

"Not all treatment plans are the same. Different foot cases call for different treatment options. That's why it is important to consult with a trained specialist. At my practice, we manage each foot problem with care," explains Dr. Bagha.
