Mr. Kooistra has 12 years of professional experience, with two years as a director of sales for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa for RTI Surgical, Inc. His/her areas of expertise include European markets. On a daily basis, he is responsible for overseeing all sales and marketing operations of the company, as well as managing the European board and leading the strategic direction of the company.

The ambitious initiative of combining companies at RTI Biologics will be shaped and overseen by legacy pioneer surgical expert Mr. Kooistra. He not only brings a sound background in international economics, but also can look back on a successful career and responsible positions in the health care sector. Experienced in shaping distribution structures and taking over leadership roles, he is a specialist in health care economics, orthopedics and spine surgery. He will be supported by a cross-border team of professionals in all areas of medical applications for the now-expanded range of biologic, metal and synthetic implants. Mr. Kooistra and his team will see to it that the overall, personalized support offered will increase on a significant scale; possibilities for exchanging expert knowledge across national borders will be enhanced; company communication and useful information will be delivered a regular basis and opportunities are explored to expand product portfolios.

Though he has had many accomplishments over the years, he feels that the highlight of his career was taking a business unit that suffered from the 'commodity-war' and re-positioning it as premium in a market and growing market shares significantly..

Mr. Kooistra studied at Harvard Business School in 2013, having earned a Master of Business Administration in Marketing, Market Research and New Product Development from Northwestern University in 2009 and a Master of Business Administration from Stellenbosch University in 2009. In his free time, he is a team manager of Nederlandse Rugby Bond. As a testament to his dedication to excellence, Mr. Kooistra received a BeNeLux Sales Award of Excellence from Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. in 2006 and 2007. In years to come, Mr. Kooistra aims to experience continued success in his career.
