EHC is experiencing a high demand for new government and real estate projects as market conditions in Southwest Florida continue to improve.

NAPLES, FL, June 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EHC, Inc., a construction company that provides pre-construction, earthwork and infrastructure services, is experiencing a high demand for new government and real estate projects as market conditions in Southwest Florida continue to improve. The growth has propelled various infrastructure projects for the company.

Currently, EHC crews are hard at work on a total of five road improvement projects throughout the region for county and state department of transportation agencies. While two are nearing completion, three are ramping up.

THE PROJECTS

I-75 Highway Expansion - Charlotte and Lee Counties, Florida
After recently completing three miles of I-75 widening in Charlotte County, EHC is working with AJAX Paving for the Florida Department of Transportation to expand travel lanes and widen the shoulders of I-75 in Lee County. The goal of the project is to six lane I-75 from south of State Road 78/Bayshore Road to Lee/Charlotte County. According to the Florida Department of Transportation, crews will add a 12-foot travel lane and a 10-foot shoulder to the inside of existing northbound and southbound I-75 in the six-mile project. The job also includes resurfacing the existing four lanes, expanding interstate bridges over SR 78/Bayshore Road, constructing emergency stopping sites at the northbound and southbound I-75 exit ramps at the SR 78/Bayshore Road interchange, and adding stormwater retention ponds.

EHC is providing earthwork and infrastructure services including excavation, embankment, finish grading, stabilized subgrade, and base for the nearly six miles of road construction. The project, which began in the fall of 2012, is expected to complete early fall of 2014.

Pine Island Road Widening - Cape Coral, Florida
In concert with AJAX Paving and the Florida Department of Transportation, EHC is providing a variety of earthwork services for the expansion of Pine Island Road, otherwise known as State Road 78, from Burnt Store Road to Chiquita Boulevard. EHC services include 170,000 cubic yards of lake and road excavation, stabilized subgrade and finish grading.

Upon project completion, the road will be converted from a two-lane road to a four-lane road and will serve as the main arterial in mid Cape Coral. An outside four-foot paved bike lane, 46-foot grass median separating eastbound and westbound lanes, stormwater ponds, and roadside swales are also included in the project.

The goal of the expansion is to facilitate more businesses, investment, and overall growth in the area by providing better access to Cape Coral. In addition, the project will help with hurricane evacuations. The approximately two-mile project commenced in late summer of 2013 and is expected to complete by fall of 2014.

US 41 and CR 951 Intersection Improvements - Naples, Florida
Community Asphalt chose EHC to perform earthwork and infrastructure services for the US 41 and CR 951 intersection improvements in Naples. Services include excavation, embankment, demolition, stabilized subgrade and base for the approximately three-mile project.

The well-traveled intersection is a primary access point for traffic in Collier County and is an important corridor in the Collier County Emergency Management Department's evaluation network. Therefore, the project has required a tremendous amount of coordination between Collier County Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Transportation, vendors and of course traffic for the addition and widening of turn lanes, reconfiguring of the intersection and phased work. Accommodating future growth and improving safety is essential for the intersection project, which kicked off the first quarter of 2014 and is planned to complete in 2015.

Winchester Boulevard Extension - Englewood, Florida
Construction began on the Winchester Boulevard roadway extension the first quarter of 2014, when Zep Construction awarded EHC the contract to provide site construction services for the nearly three-mile extension of Winchester Boulevard from C.R. 776 to C.R. 775 in Englewood. EHC is performing lake excavation, excavation, import fill, embankment, stabilized subgrade, base, and finish grading for the four-lane collector addition.

The overall project includes roadway lighting, sidewalks, drainage improvements and utility work for the Charlotte County Department of Transportation in conjunction with Charlotte County Utilities and Englewood Water District. When completed in early 2015, the project will result in a four-lane connector from Placida Road to the Charlotte/Sarasota County line, with a direct connection to I-75 via River Road within Sarasota County per Charlotte County.

Caloosahatchee River Bridge Upgrade - Fort Myers, Florida
EHC is working with The de Moya Group and Ajax Paving to upgrade the I-75 Caloosahatchee River Bridge in Fort Myers for the Florida Department of Transportation. The project consists of eight bridges, new travel lanes and new shoulders northbound and southbound between SR 80/Palm Beach Boulevard and SR 78/Bayshore Road. EHC is providing the base layer for the final phase of project, which kicked off in 2014 and is expected to finish in 2015.

Over the past few decades, EHC has completed hundreds of construction projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars for a vast number of municipalities, developers, builders, owners and general contractors. The company prides itself on a reputation of fostering long-lasting relationships and providing valuable services with a professional, reliable and qualified team.
