New Openings in London in July 2014

A second branch of Barrafina offers first class tapas and the Imperial War Museum re-opens.



    LONDON, ENGLAND, July 09, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After five years, restaurateurs Sam and Eddie Hart open the second branch of Barrafina, their hugely popular tapas restaurant on London's Frith Street in Soho. Barrafina Adelaide Street, Covent Garden, opens for lunch at 12 noon on 7th July 2014 and will offer a menu of classic and contemporary tapas.

Barrafina, widely acknowledged as one of the best London restaurants, includes a long marble top bar, with 29 stools and an open kitchen, and there's a lower ground floor space for private dining and events which has an open kitchen with its own plancha.

Also opening on 7th July 2014, The Strand Dining Rooms is a 180 cover British restaurant overlooking Trafalgar Square from Mark Harris who previously held positions at The Capital Hotel, Simon Parker Bowles' Green's Restaurant & Oyster Bar, and Searcy's at The Gherkin.

For this venture, part of the redevelopment of the grand looking 1-3 Grand Buildings, Harris has teamed up with Russell Sage Studios interiors who have created an interior based on a traditional Pullman Coach with rich polished wood finishes and beautiful detailing.

Just two days later, on 9 July 2014, Silk and Grain, opens on 33 Cornhill, London, EC3V 3ND, creating a laid back, contemporary place to enjoy a Moscow mule pick-me-up or a slow roasted pork belly lunch in the City.

New Italian restaurant La Tagliata brings a slice of Italy to 11 Sandy's Row, London E1 7HW, with their new restaurant who will be serving up a handful of dishes based on authentic Italian recipes. And they're offering an opening offer of half-priced food from 14th until 25th July 2014.

Putney Pies opens at 2 Putney High Street, close to Putney Bridge, giving diners a ground floor restaurant serving Putney Pies dishes with an underground vaulted bar serving a great selection of British draft beers, ales and ciders, craft beers, wine, and artisan distillery spirits and cocktails.

Suchef, a new restaurant concept concentrating on sous-vide cooking arrives in St Paul's, (34 Carter Lane London EC4V 5AB) with another to open in Farringdon in September 2014.

July 2014 is also a significant year for the Imperial War Museum which closed for the first six months of the year and fully re-opens on 19th July 2014 revealing new First World War Galleries featuring over 1,300 objects, and new exhibition 'IWM Contemporary: Mark Neville'. The renovations also include a new atrium housing large objects, new shops and a park-side cafe.
