Painted Axe Completes King Biscuit Trifecta

Custom painted guitars commemorate one of the nation's longest running Blues festivals.

JACKSONVILLE, FL, September 03, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Even though the official end to a sweltering summer was Labor Day, the Blues is just starting to heat up, Painted Axe is ecstatic to announce the completion of three commissions for the King Biscuit Blues Festival, Oct. 8-11 in Helena, Ark.

"This is the fourth consecutive year Painted Axe and KBBF have teamed up to produce a custom painted guitar to commemorate one of the nation's longest running Blues festivals and the heritage that surrounds it and the Delta," said Michael Gauf of Painted Axe.

Three different themes are depicted on the three different guitars. The acoustic guitar, which will be presented to the festival's most valuable volunteer, replicates the famous "Downtown Helena" mural, but with caricatures of some of this year's headliners and performers.

An electric Telecaster, which was donated by the Memphis Guitar Center, pays homage to the regions cotton influence, Sonny Boy Williamson and King Biscuit.

The other electric, commissioned by a member of the KBBF leadership, ties together cotton, Blues and Helena, specifically US Route 49B.

"The Biscuit is an event and historical marker in and of itself. We feel honored to be a small part of this yearly happening and can't wait to be on site in less than a month," said Gauf. "Whether utilized as a fundraiser or awarded as a gift, our guitars are customized specifically to the event, maximizing the return - be it more raffle tickets sold or gratitude from that deserving volunteer."

Painted Axe also brands guitars for musicians and bands, looking for a promotional/marketing edge for a new CD, CD release party or tour.

In addition to the King Biscuit commissions, Painted Axe is also working on guitars for the Oct. 17 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival and the Oct. 4 Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise.
