OTTAWA, ON, September 08, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- I'm reaching out to all the good hearted people who know what family means and would do anything to save a loved one. I know I have no right to ask total strangers for help, but me and my family are desperate. Sarah is my 32 year-old sister, a devoted and caring wife and mother of 9 year old Brian.

At the beginning of 2008, Sarah started to feel pretty sick, reporting minor bone and breast pain. I thought of the worst and checked her for lumps, but could not find any. A few months later, the pain started to increase, so Sarah went to the doctor. She had the MRI in May and was diagnosed with third-stage breast cancer. This was a devastating blow to the whole family. The doctors said that they had to do more tests to see if the cancer is evolving and spreading outside the breast. After all the tests had been performed, we were told that surgery was still possible and that they might be able to remove all of the cancerous tissue. She was immediately scheduled for surgery and we all started to prepare ourselves for the worst. Fortunately, the surgery went well and the cancer was removed. Many months of chemotherapy and hormone treatment followed, but everyone was so happy that Sarah was recovering so well. Of course she suffered a lot and experienced a lot of pain in the following years, but we were there for her and all that mattered was that she was alive.

A few months ago, Sarah started to experience some changes that were not suppose to happen. She started to feel really sick, she was vomiting every morning, she had difficulties remembering the simplest things. When the seizures started, we decided to visit the doctor again. Due to the fact that she had had breast cancer, the doctors were afraid that a new tumor might have appeared somewhere in the brain. A CT scan and a full brain MRI revealed cancerous tissue in the left side of the brain.

This meant that Sarah needed another operation, this time on the brain. When we went to the medical insurance company, we were horrified to find out that the insurance would cover only $78.000 of the costs, when only the brain surgery with the hospital stay and radiations costs around $135.000, without the treatments that are required after. Family and friends reached out to our local community and we managed to raise $26.200. But this is still not even close to the amount needed for Sarah's surgery.

If you had the patience to read this far, I already thank you. I know it is a lot to ask, but think that as little as you have could save the life a loving sister, a caring mother and a devoted wife. Sarah more than deserves another chance at life, so please find it in your heart to make this happen!
