City and County of Denver Proclaims September 15-21, 2014 as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Week

    DENVER, CO, September 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In honor of the 25th Anniversary of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), EMDR International Association is pleased to announce that Michael B. Hancock, Mayor or the City and County of Denver, Colorado, has officially proclaimed September 15-21, 2014, to be known as: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Week in Denver, Colorado.

EMDR is designated as an effective and efficacious treatment by the American Psychiatric Association, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and many other international health agencies. The treatment has helped over two million people of all ages attain relief or full recovery from many types of psychological distress.

EMDR International Association will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of EMDR at the 2014 EMDRIA Conference, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center Hotel. Over 1,100 Therapists from 21 countries will attend. Also in attendance and presenting is the founder of EMDR, Francine Shapiro, Ph.D. Dr. Shapiro will be moderating the Conference's Opening Address on Thursday, September 18th from 4:00pm-5:00pm.
