Local Author Signed to Publish Emotional, Revelating New Book

Tate Publishing is proud to announce the signing of local author Stacy-Ann Duhaney and her bold, emotional revelating book "Dimensions of a Woman."

BIRMINGHAM, AL, October 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dimensions of a Woman explores emotions and identity as a real part of a woman's journey to becoming whole. Using poetry and prose in storytelling and free verse style the book looks at woman through the eyes of how she's portrayed, then acknowledging love, pain and regret sheltered under the strength of trust.

"It took me a long time to decide who I am in this life. I can attribute this to fear, wanting to make logical decisions and not fully wanting to embrace my weaknesses and strengths," shares Duhaney. "The inspiration for writing the book is because I think there are a lot of women out there like me, the emotions may be in different forms, but they don't fully embrace them and deal with them so it's difficult for them to be truly happy. Emotions can be crippling, and can keep a person from full recovery from an event as well as it can be the very thing that allows you to grow. I really hope women will be inspired by this book and they will understand the thin line between success and failure that emotion can blur."

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book will be available upon its release through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

If you ask Stacy-Ann Duhaney who she is, without hesitation and the broadest smile in the world, she would answer "I am a Christian, Lover of Life, Poet, Artist, Humanitarian, Entrepreneur and best of all I'm a Mom. I'm so many things but most of all, I'm grateful."

Stacy-Ann Duhaney was born in Jamaica, and has been living in Trinidad & Tobago for 10 years. She is the owner of Vision Shapers Creative Consultants Ltd. and has the necessary qualifications in Marketing & International Business. She is currently finding a balance between her passions that would allow her to impact communities, work, write and travel between the countries she wants to explore.

Duhaney developed a love for writing and making up stories at around age six. On entering high school she fell madly in love with reading and words that's and then started writing poetry and short stories. When asked what most inspired her to write she says "I needed a way to dream, dreaming kept my thoughts healthy, it was an escape from poverty and in my words is where I kept my dreams alive." Growing up in an inner city community in Jamaica, she knew death intimately at an early age and was no stranger to violence and the demise of young people who fell prey to what her community had to offer. She decided that the life she grew to know would not be her reality and so she wrote to escape it. Though she got a grade A in GCE literature and was always complimented and encouraged to write, the need for financial security stepped in and writing was never nurtured and was not much more than a distant hobby for many years and so like everything else that's neglected the passion for writing seemed to fade.

It was not until 2013 when faced with many life challenges that writing once again became an outlet. But this time, it became more than a hobby and her first book "Dimensions of a Woman" an assemblage of poems was completed in 2014. She got offers to publish from three publishers the same year and started another book "quiet" as well as the layout for the culmination of "Dimensions of a Woman" entitled "Deeper Dimensions of a Woman" that would be her third book. She hopes that these books will be published 2015 & 2016. When asked how after not writing for many years and also not being formally trained to write beyond high school she finds the will and courage to pursue it she says "It's been a part of me for many years, like my shadow, haunting me while bringing me joy. I didn't know what I was meant for really, then came the overflowing of words and I had to write."

Duhaney is also a blogger who writes advertising copy, website and digital media content, including being a business article contributor to various Magazines. She hopes her writing will progress to producing romance novels, and personal & business development books. She enjoys conversations with her son who she calls her "7 year old wonder". Her hobbies include writing quotes, writing songs, interior decorating, restoring old things, cooking & developing recipes and volunteering. She particularly enjoys communing with nature, listening to music and watching movies both from a fun as well as critical perspective. Recently she's developed a strange affinity for birds and their language.
