Trip Walton founded Walton Law Firm, P.C. in 2001. Previously, he worked as a partner in the law offices of Walker, Hill, Adams, Umbach, Meadows and Walton from 1987 to 2001, in private practice with Harper and Meadows Law Firm between 1985 and 1987, and as a Deputy District Attorney in Montgomery County from 1984 to 1985. Here, he prosecuted felony cases including capital murder, murder, rape, robbery, trafficking of illegal drugs, arson, and other felony offenses. While with Walker-Hill, Trip handled the prosecution duties for the City of Auburn for roughly five years.

Currently, Trip focuses his practice in the areas of personal injury, traumatic brain injuries, wrongful death, automobile and tractor trailer collisions, train collisions, dog bite attacks, and serious slip and fall injuries. Walton Law Firm, P.C. has recently crossed the $100 Million dollar mark for verdicts and settlements received for their clients. Trip enjoys a stellar reputation for providing a vigorous defense to clients accused of DUI, drugs and narcotics and other crimes.

Trip attended Auburn University as an undergraduate and earned his JD from the University of Alabama School of Law. While completing his studies, he was a successful amateur heavyweight boxer known for his knockout punch. His record includes the Southeastern Regional Intercollegiate Titles in 1978, a win in the Georgia Golden Gloves Tournament in 1980, the Alabama AAU Open-Class Heavyweight Championship in 1981, and won the 1982 Alabama Golden Gloves Heavyweight Championship bout.

He is currently on the board of St. James School in Montgomery, is on the Board of the Alabama Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee with the Alabama State Bar, and is also on the Board representing the State of Alabama for The Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers (APITLA). Trip is also affiliated with the North American Brain Injury Society, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice's Spinal Cord Injury Litigation Group, Alabama Association for Justice, Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, State Bar of Georgia, Lee County Bar Association, various Alabama State Bar Committees, Auburn Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.
