Vache Dixie/Swing Concert @ Providence Marriott Ballroom

    PROVIDENCE, RI, November 07, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Worsley Productions presents a show of Dixieland and Swing Music favorites on Sunday, November 16 at the Providence Marriott Ballroom (Charles and Orms Streets), starting at 4 pm.

The star leader is Warren Vache, (jazz trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn) and one of the Masters of Jazz. He was trained by his bass-playing father and leading cornetist, Pee Wee Erwin. His first big time jobs were with Benny Goodman. He then created a musical partnership with another up-and-coming musician, saxophonist Scott Hamilton. They made a number of classic---and highly-selling---records for Concord. Scott now lives in Italy and plays in eastern Europe and Russia. Vache is based in New York where he is a very popular musician, known nationally and internationally.

The band includes: Paul Schmelling, piano, former head of the piano department at Berklee College of Music, Boston, for 25 years; Marty Ballou, bass, an associate of Duke Robillard; Leading New England Drummer Artie Cabral, formerly of the Woody Herman, Herb Pomeroy and Rob McConnell bands; Arnie Krakowsky, tenor sax , who has worked with Ray Charles, Artie Shaw and Dick Johnson bands and has acclaim from renown jazz critic, Nat Hentoff; Billy Novick, clarinet, a partner with Guy VanDuser and a member of the New Black Eagle Jazz Band; Dick Whaley, trombone, formerly of the Duke Belaire Band and an associate of Art Pelosi, and Jimmy Mazzy, one of this country's top banjo artists and a great Dixieland vocalist.

These musicians are all very experienced professionals, with great personalities so you never know what to expect. This is sure to be a "don't miss," fun and enjoyable performance.
