NAPLES, FL, November 26, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EHC, Inc., a construction company that provides pre-construction, earthwork and infrastructure services, is pleased to announce the launch of The Coves at Estero Bay residential community in Fort Myers with KB Home and a multi-tower condominium tower development in Naples. KB Home and the condominium developer are new clients for EHC.

EHC crews are proceeding with the clearing and environmental site work for The Coves at Estero Bay in Fort Myers. The overall KB Home residential community includes over 200 homes with an amenities center, lakes and preserves.

For the initial phase of the condominium tower development in Naples, EHC is performing clearing, lake excavation, and storm drainage as well as water, sewer, and brick paver parking lot improvements for a sales building. More details to come on the multi-tower, multi-story, multi-million dollar project.

While new projects are kicking off, the EHC team has completed two large-scale projects in Southwest Florida - the I-75 improvements in Lee County and the Pine Island Road widening in Cape Coral.

I-75 Highway Expansion - Charlotte and Lee Counties, Florida
After completing three miles of I-75 widening in Charlotte County, EHC worked with AJAX Paving for the Florida Department of Transportation to expand travel lanes and widen the shoulders of I-75 in Lee County. The project increased travel lanes to six on I-75 from south of State Road 78/Bayshore Road to Lee/Charlotte County Line. According to the Florida Department of Transportation, crews added a 12-foot travel lane and a 10-foot shoulder to the inside of existing northbound and southbound I-75 in the six-mile project. The job also included resurfacing the existing four lanes, expanding interstate bridges over SR 78/Bayshore Road, constructing emergency stopping sites at the northbound and southbound I-75 exit ramps at the SR 78/Bayshore Road interchange, and adding stormwater retention ponds.

EHC provided earthwork and infrastructure services including excavation, embankment, finish grading, stabilized subgrade, and base for the nearly six miles of road construction. The project began in the fall of 2012. EHC has now transitioned to further expansion in Charlotte County.

Pine Island Road Widening
In concert with AJAX Paving and the Florida Department of Transportation, EHC provided a variety of earthwork services for the expansion of Pine Island Road, otherwise known as State Road 78, from Burnt Store Road to Chiquita Boulevard. EHC services included 170,000 cubic yards of lake and road excavation, stabilized subgrade and finish grading.

Upon project completion, Pine Island Road was converted from a two-lane road to a four-lane road and serves as the main arterial in mid Cape Coral. An outside four-foot paved bike lane, 46-foot grass median separating eastbound and westbound lanes, stormwater ponds, and roadside swales were also included in the project.

The goal of the expansion is to facilitate more businesses, investment, and overall growth in the area by providing better access to Cape Coral. In addition, the project helps with hurricane evacuations. The approximately two-mile project commenced in late summer of 2013.

The site construction company currently has 13 active projects from Charlotte County to Collier County with more in negotiations. The projects span real estate and government industries and include new projects The Coves at Estero Bay in Fort Myers and the multi-tower condominium tower development in Naples as well as the Hertz Worldwide Headquarters Campus in Estero, Sam's Club in Cape Coral, Naples Square community in Naples, U.S. Route 41 and CR 951 intersection in Naples, Caloosahatchee Bridge at I-75 in Fort Myers, Winchester Boulevard in Englewood, 1-75 improvements in Charlotte County, Eastport Water Reclamation Facility in Punta Gorda, Lindsford community in Fort Myers, Twin Eagles community in Naples, and Golden Gate Parkway in Naples.
