Portland Artist Char Fitzpatrick Launches Website and Store

    PORTLAND, OR, December 12, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Artist Char Fitzpatrick officially launched a new website, http://www.charfitzpatrick.com, earlier this month. The site serves as a window into the artist's thinking, while providing art enthusiasts around the world with easy access to her work.

"I wanted a way to share my artwork with a wider audience than I could reach in my home town. Plus, this way I can offer fun things like prints so people don't have to feel intimidated by the prices on some of my larger original pieces," says Fitzpatrick.

The website is presented as a blog called "Paintbox from Portland," with new posts about once per week. Most of the blog posts highlight a single drawing or painting with information on how to purchase the original piece or a print of the piece via Fitzpatrick's Etsy storefront, http://paintboxfromportland.etsy.com.

The Etsy store contains over 100 items including Fitzpatrick's original paintings and drawings ranging from $50 to $1,900, and individual 8"x10" prints and print sets of the same works starting at just $27. Preselected and build-your-own print sets are available at a savings over individual prints.

Though a native of the Pacific Northwest, Fitzpatrick attended the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. She has resided in Portland, Oregon for 28 years and has been an artist by trade for nearly 45 years.

Fitzpatrick, age 60, when asked to describe her artistic style replied, "I teethed on the Scottish colorists when I was in school in Glasgow in the 1970s. I would say I have a very bold style, with a particular love of color and the dramatic. I enjoy walking the tightrope between the recognizable and the abstract."
