/24-7PressRelease/ - Hollywood, FL, September 06, 2008 - 4 Star Plumbing and Air Conditioning a.k.a. 4 Star Services, located at 5691 NE 14th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, kick off their 2nd annual "We Will Work for Food" Food Drive in Hollywood with the City's Community Development Agency. Donations for food giveaways will begin on September 1st and will continue until distribution on February, 2009. The extension of this year's Fort Lauderdale food drive to include Hollywood allows 4 Star Services to double its donations in an effective and efficient way.
"Our food drive was a huge success last year in Fort Lauderdale and we hope to make it even bigger this year. With City to City expansion, we want to double our donations", says Ted Hasle, one of 3 partners of 4 Star Services and Manager of its 27 employees.
The City of Hollywood will host the first ever "Community Harvest" to include a series of fund raisers such as a $5 jean day, car show, and Halloween contest to raise enough money to provide 200 families with a bag of groceries, $50 food gift card, vegetable seeds, recipes, and food coupons. 4 Star Services will provide each donor of $5 or more with a $25 gift card and another $25 cash match donation made in the customer name upon redemption of the card.
"Last year 4 Star Services Food Drive serviced a large number of families in Broward County, which included Hollywood residents. We are delighted to have them sponsor and assist the City of Hollywood this year in our Community Harvest Food Drive campaign," says Jeannette Smith, Assistant Director of the Department of Housing and Community Redevelopment.
In November, 4 Star Services will expand their food drive efforts into Fort Lauderdale where they will collect dry and canned food donations until February, 2009 when the donations will be distributed to the Daily Bread Food Bank. All donors in Fort Lauderdale will also receive a $25 gift card for their contributions.
