RCBA draws diverse, talented group of volunteers to leadership

I am elated to have been able to gather with our leadership team and to find so many professionals eager to give their time and treasure to our mission.

    PILES GROVE, NJ, February 10, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reform Canine Breeding and Auctions (RCBA) has made tremendous progress in building the team that will help it accomplish its mission of ensuring dogs bred for sale are treated humanely, shown kindness, and bred using only medically sound practices.

In a few short months, RCBA has selected civic activist and architectural firm owner Hue Grant president and recruited a talented team of volunteers from 17 different states to fill key positions within the organization.

RCBA held its first organizational meeting on Saturday, January 17, in Texas and began work on concrete goals and milestones.

"I am elated to have been able to gather with our leadership team and to find so many professionals eager to give their time and treasure to our mission," said RCBA President Hue Grant.

Grant offered a snapshot of RCBA's leadership team:

- all 27 are college-educated and many hold graduate degrees
- many own and operate successful small businesses
- many are executives
- 2 are veterinarians (with an opening for a third)
- 3 are attorneys,
- several are psychologists, IT professionals or CPAs;
- some are trainers, researchers, and educators who have published in their fields
- others have run non-profits and are expert fundraisers
- more than half have had prior experience serving on a board or holding office in a civic organization, local governmental entity or not-for-profit.

Our leadership team and our membership include commercial dog breeders, people active in the dog show arena and members of rescue groups for a variety of breeds, added Grant.

"We are pragmatic people looking to collaborate with all of the stakeholders who have an interest in making canine breeding better for the dogs," said RCBA Founder Ron Sturgeon, who hosted RCBA's first organizational meeting.
