Mobility Tax Firm Expands its Global Philanthropic Reach

Global Tax Network (GTN) announced today they will be launching their Beards for Busy Season (BFBS) Campaign on March 1, 2015.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, February 26, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Global Tax Network (GTN) announced today they will be launching their Beards for Busy Season (BFBS) Campaign on March 1, 2015 to help raise awareness and monetary support for an international non-profit organization. The GTN BFBS Campaign will run through April 15, 2015, which represents the Internal Revenue Service's Tax filing deadline in the U.S. All GTN employees and friends of the firm will have the opportunity to participate in this event.

"We are very excited to take our Beards for Busy Season campaign to the next level this year," said Craig Dexheimer, Senior Director of Operations. "Not only does this allow us to expand our global philanthropic reach, but it also adds another element of fun into our firm's culture."

While this is the first year that BFBS has evolved into a campaign to support a non-profit, it is not the first year GTN has celebrated BFBS. In 2014, in the midst of tax season, GTN employees decided to do something a bit different. Taking a thought shared by several employees, GTN came up with BFBS. It was a way to keep things light and fun in the middle of a time when there was a significant amount of work to be done.

"Tax busy season is definitely a demanding time of year," said Mitchell Underwood, a Tax Senior with GTN. "We are so busy serving our clients, we hardly have time to shave. GTN found something that keeps things fun, but doesn't take up any of your time. It helps us stay connected and in good spirits."

New for BFBS this year, GTN has turned it into a campaign to raise awareness and funds for the KGSA Foundation www.KGSAfoundation.org. The KGSA Foundation provides financial and technical assistance to support the Kibera Girls' Soccer Academy (KGSA), a community center in the Kibera slums of Nairobi, Kenya. KGSA offers free secondary education to over 130 girls annually, in addition to artistic and athletic programming to the students, and microfinance opportunities to the families to help create a stronger, more resilient Kibera.

KGSA believes that through active participation in education, arts, and athletics, young women will have the opportunity to develop a stronger confidence in their minds, bodies, and spirits - empowering them to become inspiring leaders in their own communities and country, as they advocate for a brighter Kibera and Kenya. Ryan Sarafolean, Founder and Executive Director of KGSA is energized about this initiative. "We are extremely excited to partner with GTN on this fun and hip campaign. GTN's focus on philanthropy and giving back to the community truly aligns well with what we are doing at KGSA," says Sarafolean.

Supporters of BFBS will obtain donations during the campaign period while growing their 'beards'. Male participants will attempt to maintain the best beard possible for the duration of the event while female participants have the option to grow a 'Chia Beard.' "This is really a fun way for all of us to give a little something back to the community," stated Jen Stein, Managing Director of GTN's Great Lakes region.
