Is the Marketing Industry in for Tough Times? AIM Marketing Respond to Recent Claims

Despite claims that marketing budgets have grown for the ninth consecutive quarter, there are concerns that the industry could be in for a fall.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, March 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- AIM Marketing reviews the claims and share why they believe direct marketing will continue to be successful.

A report by IPA Bellwether released on 15 January showed that 6.1% of companies had registered an increase in budgets during the quarter. Throughout 2014 marketing budgets grew significantly with growth of 15.1% in the fourth quarter. Direct marketing also experienced a 3.9% increase in 2014. And relative to these levels 30% of companies are anticipating rise in their marketing budgets in 2015. Although this is still growth this is slowing compared to 2014's figures and this has led many to believe that the marketing industry could be in trouble. Many believe that this may be a reflection of heightened caution towards the unsettled wider economy with the upcoming elections.

AIM Marketing believes that this could have a negative repercussion on the industry if budgets continue to grow at a far slower rate than expected. The firm believes that if businesses are less optimistic about their achievements then this will have a negative impact on how well they perform. By reducing marketing budgets, firms will likely see less results and this will again impact their confidence. AIM Marketing believes that this will also have a lasting impact on the economy as less people will be less confident in starting businesses and therefore there will be fewer opportunities for work.

However, despite some people having a negative outlook on the year ahead, AIM Marketing is remaining positive for the coming year. The firm says that the fact marketing budgets have increased for the past nine consecutive quarters fills them with hope that marketers are confident in what they are doing and will continue to develop and progress on the same upward paths that they have been.
