Chevy Cruze Named Fleet Car of the Year for 2014

    TAMPA, FL, March 25, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After taking the lead ahead of 48 other vehicles, the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan has been awarded the 2014 Fleet Car of the Year by Automotive Fleet and Business Fleet magazines. (1)

The 2014 Fleet Car of the Year award is meant to promote excellence in the fleet industry, especially when it concerns the tools and vehicles that allow fleet managers to achieve their goals. (2)

To have the opportunity to win the annual 2014 Fleet Car of the Year award, qualified fleet professionals must vote for one of almost 50 vehicles via an online ballot. Ferman Chevrolet of Tampa is pleased to note that most fleet professionals voted for the 2015 Cruze. (1)

Sales of the compact car are up 41 percent in 2014 through October. Chevrolet Tampa would also like to note that the 2015 Cruze compact sedan is the automaker's best-selling car worldwide with more than 3 million vehicles sold globally since the Cruze was launched in 2009. (1)

For 2015, Chevrolet's compact sedan receives revised exterior styling and some minor interior upgrades. The Cruze also gets OnStar 4G LTE with a standard built-in Wi-Fi hotspot (1) and the Siri Eyes Free smartphone feature for iPhone users. (3)

The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze is equipped with a choice of three engines. The two gasoline models use a 1.8-liter four-cylinder or a smaller and more efficient 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. There is also the option of a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel capable of producing a total 151 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. EPA-estimated city/highway fuel economy ratings when equipped with the diesel engine are 27/46 miles per gallon. (3)
