MyPhillyLawyer Wins 2014 Litigator Award

Philadelphia law firm wins award in two categories, Wrongful Death and Catastrophic Injuries

Winning this award is a result of the dedication and focus that we bring to every case. We represent people who have been wronged but aren't able to defend themselves.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, March 16, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Philadelphia law firm of Silvers, Langsam and Wietzman, known locally as MyPhillyLawyer (MPL) recently received the 2014 Litigator Award. Announced on January 15, 2015, the Litigator Award is given to less than one percent of all practicing attorneys.

Selection for this prestigious honor is based upon the dollar amounts won for clients, making it one of the most open and objective awards given to attorneys. Unlike some other awards, it does not depend on popularity or name recognition, but on measureable dollars and cents.

Partner Dean Weitzman of MyPhillyLawyer said, "Winning this award is a result of the dedication and focus that we bring to every case. We represent people who have been wronged but aren't able to defend themselves. This award is a testament to our success on their behalf."

The Trial Lawyers Board of Regents, which administers the awards, refers to its selection process as Performance-Oriented Rating Methodology. It evaluates achievement across 72 practice and sub-practice specialties in Jury Trials, Trials Before the Court and Appeals. This constitutes an unbiased and transparent approach to identifying the top trial lawyers in specific practice areas.

To be eligible for consideration, lawyers and law firms must show two verified verdicts or settlements of at least $1 million in any of the practice specialty categories within the five years proceeding nomination; one verified verdict or settlement of at least $5 million within the 10 years preceding nomination; and one verified verdict or settlement if at least $10 million in any category within the preceding 20 years prior to nomination. These requirements vary slightly based on the size of the law firm.

In addition, nominees must have an exemplary record as reported by the agency that regulates the practice of law in the attorney's state.

MPL received the 2014 Litigator Award in Wrongful Death and Catastrophic Injuries. This reflects the large awards the firm has obtained for clients suffering severe injuries or grieving the wrongful death of a loved one.
