The Self Love Project Empowers Girls to Take Control of Their Lives

Through a self love mentoring curriculum, The Self Love Project aims to develop a global community of women who support each other in their journey of self love, lifestyle choices, career goals, and entrepreneurial endeavors.

TSLP launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the Fall 2015 Pilot Program and develop long-term sustainability through the sale of handmade artisan goods (pouches, scarves, and cards) from India.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, March 19, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Building a future generation of compassionate and influential female leaders begins first with encouraging women and girls to listen to their intuition and learn to trust and nurture themselves, as they grow, navigate change, and tackle decisions.

Amanda C. Williams, who has over 10 years experience as a teacher and mentor, founded The Self Love Project (TSLP), a registered nonprofit organization, in 2014. TSLP is a direct result of her own personal and professional journey, one that has met its share of challenges and difficult situations. "All of my experiences have lead me to where I am today and to the creation of The Self Love Project. After years of self-reflection, and sometimes therapy, I realize the process of self love is like peeling back layers of an onion. The moment I think I've reached the center, there are more layers to peel back. Even though I've gone through turbulent times, I am grateful for every moment. I want to share more about what I've gone through so that I can help others. I'm not perfect, but I know who I am, and I love and appreciate the person I am today."

TSLP aims to create a global community of empowered women and girls who support each other in their journey of self-love, lifestyle choices, career goals, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Through a six-chapter, self love mentoring curriculum that consists of trust-building activities and self-exploration exercises, participants are encouraged to develop their own sense of being and understand that not everyone fits into the same mold. While family and peer pressure may dictate a certain path, TSLP's curriculum encourages participants to follow their intuition and pursue life and career goals best suited to them.

The Pilot Program will launch Fall 2015 in at least five schools. TSLP launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the Pilot Program and develop long-term sustainability through the sale of handmade artisan goods (pouches, scarves, and cards) produced in partnership with nonprofit cooperatives in India. 100% of the proceeds will benefit The Self Love Project in areas of curriculum development and distribution, market research, collaborations, and community outreach.
