DIGITALSPEC - SBA 8(a) Certified Company Wins 8(a) Prime Contract to provide SharePoint Technical Services at Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

    FAIRFAX, VA, April 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- DIGITALSPEC (DSPEC) wins another key bid supporting CBP's Office of Internal Affairs (IA). In addition to their work providing technical and programmatic support for the Security Management Assessment Reporting Tool (SMART) system, DSPEC will provide the Office of Internal Affairs with an enhanced web communications and business process improvement platform using the latest functionality from SharePoint 2013. IA is responsible for ensuring compliance with all CBP wide programs and policies relating to corruption, misconduct, or mismanagement and for executing the internal security, integrity, and management inspections programs. Under this contract, DSPEC will be supporting all of the divisions and personnel within the Office of Internal Affairs, which includes both law enforcement officers and government oversight personnel.

As one of the largest federal law enforcement agencies in the country, over 75% of CBP's workforce consists of law enforcement officers who are responsible for executing the agency's border security, trade, and travel missions. DSPEC will take their understanding of the law enforcement domain and pair it with their proven record of deploying innovative IT solutions to empower CBP with the ability to collaborate, communicate, and perform their mission.

Under this contract, DSPEC will provide technical and programmatic consulting services for the design, maintenance, and enhancement support of all IA SharePoint sites and content. At present, DSPEC maintains over 75 sites and sub-sites that provide information at various levels of classification to personnel throughout CBP.
