WALNUT CREEK, CA, April 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paleoventures, a San Francisco Bay Area outdoor offsite team building company, which brings project teams into the outdoors for team building and leadership development, announces it will be a participating vendor at Lafayette, California's 10th Annual Earth Day Festival. The event is being held Sunday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center.

Visitors to Paleoventures Earth Day exhibit will obtain information on how bringing workplace teams into the outdoors can improve connections amongst co-workers, boost problem-solving and decision-making skills, and increase communication and trust. There will also be a mini-interactive workshop that teaches simple wilderness skills to children and adults.

Paleoventures works with companies from a variety of industry sectors including healthcare, finance and nonprofits. A typical outdoor training may include activities such as fire building (with and without a match), orienteering (using a compass, map drawing, way finding), water gathering, plant and animal identification, and stealth walking.

"An activity such as learning to read a compass not only helps individuals with wilderness skills, but can also be a confidence builder in learning a new workplace skill," says company co-founder Trudy Triner. "It helps teams share knowledge, and this can translate into other areas of acquiring and using knowledge to move toward team goals."

Triner founded the company with her son, Jack Foley, an experienced outdoor educator, and a certified Wilderness First Responder. Foley's outdoor expertise helps teams get in touch and feel comfortable and invigorated in natural environments.

Triner has 20 years of organizational development skills. Prior to founding Paleoventures, she was Director of Leadership Development for Patient Care Services at Kaiser Permanente. Her experience includes leading team building activities and workshops at Kaiser Permanente and Fortune 500 companies. The mother-son duo launched Paleoventures in 2014, and since that time, has been bringing workplace teams into the outdoors to help them develop healthy, functional workplaces.
