iPortfolio Releases Gamebook with Oxford and SecretBuilders

Gamebooks categorizes Oxford's Leaders Series for elementary school students according to levels of difficulty and allows students to play games in between reading e-books.

SEOUL, KOREA, May 22, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- iPortfolio, which specializes in producing e-books, has released Gamebooks in collaboration with SecretBuilders, an American educational game company.

Gamebooks is a gaming e-book that combines games with the contents of Oxford University Press, a world-famous English textbook publishing company.

iPortfolio has already signed an e-book platform license contract with Oxford University Press in 2013 and is currently producing and providing e-books for Oxford's various educational English publications.

Unlike existing educational games where learning content is inserted into a game, Gamebooks categorizes Oxford's Leaders Series for elementary school students according to levels of difficulty and allows students to play games in between reading e-books.

The students can enjoy the game, which contents are linked to a certain e-book via SecretBuilders' diverse game modules.

Also, students who read the same book can look at their rankings and read e-books in competition with other students from all over the world.

Gamebooks is an interesting collaboration project among Korea, England and the United States. It is a mixture of Oxford's contents, SecretBuilders' game platform and iPortfolio's planning and e-book production technology.

Also, iPortfolio is working on Oxford Read & Imagine, an upgraded interactive animation-combined app book, with app developer Newin, which is known for the video player app Nplayer.

Realistic animation effects are shown according to the contents of e-books to help students understand what they are learning.

It is expected to be outstanding in terms of interest and educational synergy effects. The animation effects are not just for fun, as they are closely related to the stories and even the timing of the animations is synced with the stories.
