Naturopathic Cancer Society Aims to Rethink How To Help People Living With Cancer

Isn't it time to rethink how to help people living with cancer? NCS is doing just that.

Only a small fraction of the billions of dollars raised annually for cancer research actually contributes to treatments.

PHOENIX, AZ, May 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Recent media reports on federal investigations into large cancer charities has focused attention on ensuring funds are used where they are most useful - for people that need the most help. Naturopathic Cancer Society (NCS) is unique in that 85 cents out of every dollar raised goes directly towards treatment for people living with cancer.

Conventional cancer treatment protocols call for chemotherapy, radiation and/or surgery, poisoning and traumatizing the body and causing side effects that severely affect quality of life. Naturopathic treatment, on the other hand, has been proven to provide an effective option that strengthens the immune system while greatly enhancing quality of life.

Only a small fraction of the billions of dollars raised annually for cancer research actually contributes to treatments. Most of the revenue goes to fundraising, overheads and pharmaceutical research devoted to the same, traditional toxic treatments. Yet medical research is no closer to fully understanding and curing cancer than it was 40 years ago.

Many people are asking if there isn't a better way - not only to treat cancer, but also to
support people living with cancer. NCS offers a better way on both fronts:

1. Those living with cancer get financial support to receive naturopathic treatments, which enjoy some of the top success rates in the world, at a fraction of the cost of conventional treatment.

2. NCS is building a unique nonprofit model based on volunteerism, social media and word-of-mouth fundraising to give people a choice in their treatment. Low- and moderate-income individuals requesting assistance with the cost of naturopathic treatment options must commit to living a healthy lifestyle and should be prepared to 'pay it forward' in a way that works for them: service to other patients, fundraising or donations.

Do you agree it's time to rethink our approach to cancer? Would you like to know exactly where your donations are going? NCS has the answer - donors giving $2,000 or more will receive a summary of people helped by their donation, together with their stories.
